Well, of course! Because as everyone knows, insurance companies don’t lose money. If they have to pay out anything, they are going to get it back, if the whole country has to pay for it!

Not only are they getting shafted by the insurance companies local news in LA said they have to have new sewers installed in the fire areas at $2.000.000 per property owner.

We know the city or stat don’t want the property huh Moe.

State Farm will end up helping California take-over the vast majority of the properties hit by fire.

“… despite failing its obligations to consumers.”

In what exact way did State Farm fail?

California refused to allow State Farm to increase rates for years, then, when terrible policies from California governments (state and local) cause catastrophic loss, California doesn't want State Farm to stay viable, instead, making it pull monies from other states to surplus give to California.

A state has terrible management and won't let its citizens feel the additional cost of its already costly management.

State Farm is completely innocent of wrongdoing, here.

It should pack up and walk away. It has a duty to other citizens in the other 49 states to care for them, when California poops out its Enviro-Nazi policies to harm its own citizens.

Pay off the mortgage loan then cancel home insurance. It is a rip-off. Insurance fraud is legion. You are paying for it. State Farm does it the easy way. Home owners are forced to carry insurance when they have a mortgage loan.

How dare State Farm try to make a profit! The logical conclusion to all of this is Gavin Newsom dressing like Jake for the commercials for "Cali Farm, the insurance entity that will protect you regardless of the cost."

Unless he can find an Emu willing to take 2nd billing....

Thank you for referencing that article .

"State Farm Not Satisfied with 17% Rate Hike in California; Asks for Nearly 30%"

Is State Farm in California having to pay for damages caused by uninsured illegal alien drivers?

Dealing with them right now with a tree on our home.

Already got rid of one incompetent adjuster. Really dragging their feet (they want you to give up).

Changing companies after this is all done.

just curious?? If the Government can tell you how much you can charge and they can tell you how much you have to pay out in damages, why do business here in the first place???

State Farm sucks. They screwed me over when I had a house fire and ended my insurance midway though the rebuild.

I swore I would talk $hit about them till I die every time their name come up.

Given the current laws in place in California , I’m not sure 30% is enough to make the numbers work in the black in California.

Most likely State Farm will be the next insurance company to exit the California Real Estate Insurance markets.

I still remember when the house 400 ft north of me got hail damage. The one 500 feet south of me got hail damage and the one 1000 ft east of me got hail all the the same storm (no one to the west at that house)

Jake went up on my roof and said “it’s fine” we went back and forth and they wouldn’t pay.

I dumped them and got a refund. New company shows up and excludes the roof for.... You guessed it. Hail damage.

Ended up replacing it out of pocket.

Jake can kiss my backside.
