Russia likely preparing major offensive in Ukraine despite peace efforts

Russia seems to be preparing a significant offensive in Ukraine as it is moving troops toward key positions on the front, the Financial Times reported on May 13, citing undisclosed Ukrainian intelligence officials.

These reported preparations indicate Moscow's efforts to escalate the war despite expected ceasefire talks this week and calls by Kyiv and its partners for an unconditional 30-day truce.

Russia has rejected ceasefire proposals unless accompanied by a halt on military aid for Ukraine and continues ground assaults along the front and long-range strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure.

Some 163 clashes were recorded at the front over the past day, the Ukrainian military reported on the morning of May 14. The DeepState monitoring group said that Russian forces recently advanced in Toretsk and near Pokrovsk in Donetsk Oblast.

Putin has got to know we will drive down the global price of oil and starve Russia if he doesn’t chill.

That starves us in north America even worse. Never worked in the past. Best thing to do is bring the gay dancer to heel. He clearly gives no care at all for the people there. Find out who he is taking orders from. Start there.

Russia likely preparing major offensive in Ukraine despite peace efforts

This time, this new offensive will work. Just like all the other offensives have worked in the past.

With all those offensives, Ukraine is 100% under Tussian control, and the newest offensive is just to scare NATO and the EU.

Next month, Russia will launch another new offensive, intending to take 200% of Ukraine.

Yes, I’ve been following the same. Russia is “negotiating” by staying active on the ground and taking more land. Ukraine isn’t negotiating at all, it just makes futile “demands” that Putin ignores. “Stop shooting at us” tells Putin to keep shooting.

We are now full Istanbul circle... During the first Istanbul agreeemnt which was jointly approved by the negotiators, who Zelinksi murdered upon their return to Ukraine, was never implemented. At that time Russia had 190,000 SMO forces, and only 90k combat troops in that number. They were opposed by Ukraine’s 800k active duty and 400 NG/Reserves.

Today, Russia is recruiting over 50,000 soldiers a month; Ukraine dragoons 30,000. Ukraine has had over 90,000 deserters in the first five months of 2025. Russia is up to 1.7m and in 2022 they had 340k in Russia and Ukraine area, and another 200k spread out across 7 time zones.

Ukraine is now facing 450k Russian forces along the 1600km line of contact. There are another 450k that have rotational 30-day combat experience in reserve that are going to be committed to the fray. Ukraine is struggling to hang on. Sanctions are already in place and Russia is going to crush Ukraine.

9 HIMARS systems have been destroyed in 13 days. Germany is rushing 125 systems and patriots but with the new Satellite launches by Russia in January and March, they are hunting missile launches with pinpoint accuracy all over Ukraine.

Seven different combat groupings man the Russian front. Each one has a particuar sector. Backed by nearly a half million combat troops in newly outfitted units, this is the most formidable new army in existance; new equipment and lightly combat tested as a part of their training, they are ready to exploit a weakened Uke-land.

Zaporizhzia is the major prize and with it will be the end of any western return on investment. No cease fires. Settled on the battlefield, as Zelinski and Biden wanted, it is now a nightmare for Trump and the EU Banks.

The combat line has been slowly but steadily moving west and that pace has picked up the past few weeks

Last I heard, a month or two ago, Russia had taken about 19% of Ukraine. So, with Russia taking more Ukraine land with every offensive, have they reached 20% yet?

You seem to know, so can you give us the details?

Numbers mean nothing.

One would think that with such overwhelming numbers, that Ukraine would have been completely conquered by now.

What those numbers actually mean is that, Ukraine has many more targets, and those targets turn into dead and injured, which is exactly what has been happening to the Russian soldiers, who have suffered more than 500,000 casualties (dead and injured); some would say it's actually way over a million casualties.

Since Russia doesn't actually divulge their numbers for soldiers, or for casualties, how did you get those numbers?

Remember that, 'targets' do not translate to victories.

If the numbers mattered, Ukraine would have stopped fighiing a long time ago, and Ukraine would be under Putin's hands by now.

Yeah, sure.

Been hearing the same old chit for more than 3 years, and Russia has ended up with just a quagmire. The more they advance, the more their land grab remains the same.

“These reported preparations indicate Moscow’s efforts to escalate the war despite expected ceasefire talks this week and calls by Kyiv and its partners for an unconditional 30-day truce.”

Almost like the can think strategically and aren’t falling for the 30 day scam where we flood in NATO soldiers to embed with Ukes, missiles, fighter jets, ammo, and start up a no-fly zone.

Next time DC and London needs to start a war with a checkers country instead of chess players.

“Facts” and maps. But, the Russians still hold ‘only’ about 20% of Ukraine. “Progress” that doesn’t show progress is not progress.

Only if Russia is kind enough to sell them to us, if they are even there. I still think the whole mineral deal is US wishful thinking to maintain a "foot in the door" in Ukraine.
