Predicting the midterms is easy …
If Republicans continue to do what they’re doing, which is going against Trump’s Cabinet picks, being worthless and lazy, and doing nothing to help Trump, they’ll lose in a landslide.
It’s almost like they want to lose.
...
That's exactly what they want. It's easier to blame the democrats when our country falls apart because they'll say they don't have the majority. They have no intention of passing Trumps agenda. Most of them are in on the take.
...
Makes sense, they lose, democrats get majority, impeach Trump and they get to continue their grift.
...
Who's backing these RINO's? Soros and the deep-state.
Who's backing the Democrats? Soros and the deep-state.
Now, do you really think that these RINO's don't want to hand over the House back to the deep-state so they can get their gravy-train scheme going?
...
If we lose in the midterms, Trump will be impeached (probably for J-walking), Elon will get indicted for something, JD Vance will be indicted for something, and the borders will be reopened wide! I’m voting Republican regardless.
No, it doesn't make sense.
There is no "they." Only a collection of individuals. And no individual wants to lose his seat in Congress.
That’s going to raise a lot of ire here on FR. But it’s all true.
If the GOP signs onto the Trump agenda entirely, it will lose about 60 seats in the House.
The good news is that the 160 who are left will be iconic MAGA champions. The bad news is that there are only 160 of them in a 435-seat legislature.
I am not convinced, but please explain.
Good grief! I’m an optimist and I’m persuaded of better things.
I know there’s a self defeating element out there, but I don’t think it prevails
What if, by the time November 2026 comes around'
What would the midterms look like then?

Oh noes! It’s time to capitulate!
So that seat was lost, and it’s been represented by a Democrat ever since — who keeps getting re-elected by larger and larger margins.
That might be a different story — if the GOP House candidates can credibly take credit for it.
Add David Kustoff to your list, turned Anti-2nd A. Both the NRA and Ammoland are reporting. My do-nothing RINO.
Some pubbie officeholders in the U.S. Congress seem not to have noticed that their party, led by PDJT, has moved on, from them personally (that is, politically), and from their narrow conceptions, their “past their sell-by date” conceptions, of what is important to do (or not do).
It’s not that their ideas weren’t valid or worth considering, at least at the time they formed them. It’s maybe just that they weren’t big enough to capture the public’s attention and keep growing. At this point they are either going to get on the Trump Train, or get left behind in their respective pointy-headed intellectual ghost towns.
I think if they pass Trump’s agenda they gain seats.
They won't have to. President Trump will campaign for them on a platform of not taking Congress away from him now. Trump will hold rallies asking the voters to send him a larger majority going into the 2028 election season to let Democrats know that he won't be a lame-duck president.

He’s not wrong. The Republicans don’t sit easy with power. They are more comfortable as the loyal opposition.
If the GOP fails to address election fraud, they will lose the midterms.
Based on past performance of the GOP, can’t argue with the conclusions.
Trump has never been one of “them.” Agree or disagree, he’s America First, not Party First, or Elites First.
The powers that be HATE populists. Huey Long was a populist, but with a left-wing bent. What happened to him and what was attempted against Trump?
I am still not sure I understand your argument. You said “If the GOP signs onto the Trump agenda entirely, it will lose about 60 seats in the House.”
Trump was elected and the house held and senate captured in 2024 because of his agenda. If the House gives him his agenda, how do they lose 60 seats? How would not supporting the full agenda maintain the House?
Sorry, but you reasoning is not clear to me.
Agreed. Sign the agenda into law. America heads towards renewal. Done deal.
Because most republicans are democrats inside.
I strongly suspect many are democrats who ran as republicans in districts where they knew they’d win and had no intention ever of voting with the party.
