Poland says Russia recruited arsonists for Warsaw fire on social media

Poland's foreign minister says his country has evidence that Russia recruited people on the Telegram messaging service to carry out last year's massive shopping centre fire in Warsaw.

Speaking to the BBC in an exclusive interview, Radek Sikorski said Moscow's actions were "completely unacceptable" and that a second Russian consulate in Poland had been closed as a result.

His comments come after a Polish investigation concluded that the Marywilska shopping centre fire was orchestrated by Moscow's intelligence services.

Russia denied its involvement, with Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov accusing Poland of being "Russophobic".

It's nuts. No one would waste their time targeting a shopping center. Most likely it was insurance fraud.

Sounds like Russia was.

The Poles didn’t invade Russia or set fire to any Russian shopping malls, after all.

Exactly. Poland’s presidential election is on May 18. Scaremongering ahead of the election.

“The fire in May 2024 destroyed 1,400 small businesses, with many of the staff there being members of Warsaw’s Vietnamese community. “

The last time it was Hitler using a Catholic farmer from Upper Silesia they had shot and killed the day before. The farmer was a known Polish sympathizer. They dressed him up as a saboteur, and planted his body at German the radio station, making it look like he had died while attacking the station. That was in August 1939, and it was known as The Gleiwitz incident. It was Hitler’s false flag attack to give him an excuse to invade Poland.

1,400 small businesses in one building is just asking for trouble. I wonder how many were restaurants.

From the article:”Many workers lost important documents and large sums of cash in the fire, which were kept at the shopping centre due to fear of break-ins at home.”

Hmm. Was crime really that bad in Warsaw? According to AI:

“There has been a noticeable increase in foreign crime, particularly by Ukrainian citizens, with the most common offenses being driving under the influence and theft.”

And: “The number of reported thefts in Poland has been rising, with an increase of 13% in 2022.”

And according to Notes from Poland:

Judging by the photo in the article I posted in my #13, it appears to mostly be an outdoor market composed of many little stalls. On the left side of the photo you can see the metal prefab structures which likely housed butcher shops, etc. where refrigeration and protection from insects and pests are required.

The little stalls look highly flammable. It is wonderful no one was hurt.

There were something like 1400 small shops in that mall, and a huge number of them were Vietnamese. A fire should surprise nobody.

“Poland pushing for WW III all of the sudden?”

Probably not, but the European fear is that Trump may just work with Russia to put an end to the war. That is their REAL CONCERN.

So why not throw out more baseless accusations against Russia, so as to remind Trump just how ‘evil’ Russia is.
