Passengers fume at 'rude and dismissive' TSA agents for refusing to accept 'valid' REAL ID
The Mirror US ^ | May 10, 2025 | Reanna Smith

Angry passengers have been left frustrated by the Transportation Security Administration's (TSA) enforcement of REAL ID, as "rude and dismissive" agents have been accused of refusing to accept valid forms.

As of May 7, state-issued driver’s licenses and IDs that are not REAL ID compliant are no longer accepted as valid forms of identification at airports, and passengers could be prevented from boarding their flights if they do not have an acceptable form of ID......

TSA workers even responded to the poster, claiming that some of their colleagues were struggling to get a grasp of the new rules. "Some of my TSA coworkers are morons," one wrote.

They added: "One didn’t accept a passport because they told a passenger it was 'too late' after first presenting a non REALID license. He also turned away military ID’s. Reported him to supervisor and he now has to retake the training. Unfortunately he’s not a rarity. Sorry for the inconvenience.".....

According to the TSA's website as of May 10, the current forms of valid ID for traveling on domestic flights in the US include:

REAL ID-compliant driver's licenses or other state photo identity cards issued by Department of Motor Vehicles (or equivalent)

State-issued Enhanced Driver's License (EDL) or Enhanced ID (EID)

U.S. passport

U.S. passport card

DHS trusted traveler cards (Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST)

U.S. Department of Defense ID, including IDs issued to dependents

Permanent resident card

Border crossing card

An acceptable photo ID issued by a federally recognized Tribal Nation/Indian Tribe, including Enhanced Tribal Cards (ETCs)

HSPD-12 PIV card

Foreign government-issued passport

Canadian provincial driver's license or Indian and Northern Affairs Canada card

Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Employment Authorization Card (I-766)

U.S. Merchant Mariner Credential

Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC)

New Hampshire Real ID drivers licenses (NH also issues non-real ID licenses for liberdopians) were redesigned as of 1-1-25 so the gold star inside the circle at the upper right corner was replaced by a gold star inside an outline of the Old Man of the Mountain rock formation.

This design was submitted to and approved by TSA - but the machines can't read it and the licenses are being rejected.

Yup, 2 of George the 2nd’s bad decisions, Dept of Homeland Security and TSA.

Time to end the TSA and let the airlines handle it.

It is tooooooo bad we do not get rid of HS and TSA to follow one rule. The rule: The country of which the perp is a citizen shall see its capital leveled by the US military if a US plane is destroyed by the perp. If the perp is a US citizen, the entire family of the perp will be eliminated and all familial assets seized.

Saw a FOX news report in which TSA claims the 2 black, females, stationed at the check in gate when the incident occurred were outside contractor employees not regular TSA.

Sounded like TSA BS. The only thing these women were capable of doing was harassing a traveler and pressing record on their iPhone's.

Don't know if TSA terminated the contractor, more likely TSA paid for retraining them to use less overt forms of harassment with a smile on their faces.

I remember some terrorists throwing a man in a wheel chair out of plane [I think] or was it a ship? Klinghofer maybe. My memory fades.

“Klinghofer” — yep, that one popped in my mind, too. Threw a wheelchair bound man off a ship.

Bunch of racists. TSA hates blacks and Hispanics. This is obviously flyer suppression.

“TSA, almost as good as a banana in the ear.”

I encounter TSA a lot throughout the year and my experiences have been uniformly good to excellent. I brought a pocketknife in my backpack a few months ago not knowing it was not allowed. They were very polite and gave me four options: throw it away, give it to somebody to take home, check it in baggage and another option. Fortunately, I had time to go check my carry-on bag and that took only a few minutes. They were polite, actually somewhat funny, and sympathetic, but very professional. No complaints from me in my hundreds of encounters.

Personally, I like that airplanes no longer explode in the sky because of moslems.

“All states, the District of Columbia, and the 5 territories are REAL ID compliant and issuing REAL ID compliant driver’s licenses and IDs.”

seems simple enough: most people have a driver’s license ... colorado driver licenses have been REAL ID compliant since 2012 ... just look for the star in the upper right hand corner of your driver’s license and you’re good to go ... should you even want to go ...

Yeah, it has never been more than make-work for another union. FAA tests still flunk them on finding bombs.

Purge.
