On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” ABC News Contributor and former Democratic National Committee Chair Donna Brazile said that Democrats didn’t hold an open primary to determine their nominee in 2024 after then-President Joe Biden dropped out of the race because there was an assumption that then-candidate Trump’s convictions would tarnish him enough to ensure he lost “And they thought that it was going to be an easier task and that it wouldn’t matter.”
While discussing Biden’s recent interviews and the 2024 presidential race, Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) stated, “I think, for the Democrats, if they had an open primary, it would have made a difference.”
Host Bill Maher agreed with the assertion that an open primary would have made a difference

So she is saying they thought Trump would lose because of convictions.
But even if they thought that, wouldn’t they still want to run the strongest best candidate they could?
As good as Dems are at speaking with one voice, they suck at hearing the voice of the people. Mostly because the despise and ignore a sizable portion of them, and always think they are smarter.
Don’t think too much about what she says. It’s not supposed to make sense. She’s just selling “Our Democracy” by explaining why the voters don’t need to be involved. Weaponizing the legal system ought to be enough to push their candidate into a victory.
They (Dems) don’t get it. The American people are on to them and their lies and the fake news media that covers for them ....for now. They’ll have to up the vote stealing efforts to change the outcome, or the Republicans blow it big time (which they’re apt to do...) so....we’ll see.

Well obviously, they miscalculated.
I’m sure it’s a shock to these Democrats, the voters just didn’t care about Trump’s so called convictions.
They saw Trump as being tried in a kangaroo court situation. They saw Trump’s being convicted of alleged crimes that weren’t really felonies.
They saw New York Democrats manipulate the legal system, so Trump could be tried with an expired misdemeanor complaint, being turned into a felony through some weird legal strategy.
They saw New York Democrats change the law, so a really bizarre woman who claimed an assault by Trump decades ago, could sue him for millions in damages.
While Democrats went into mock outrage mode about Trump’s legal problems, ordinary voters saw Trump being tried in kangaroo courts.
The Democrats just cannot comprehend why so many people were not outraged as they were, about Trump’s alleged legal transgressions.
I forgot to mention about the raid on Mar a Lago over the classified documents alleged crime.
The American people thought all that was nonsense, and it did not prevent them from voting for Trump again.
