Major city brought to a halt as train system is hit by network failure
UK Daily Mail ^ | 05/09/2025 | STACY LIBERATORE

San Francisco came to a standstill Friday after the BART train system was suspended due to a network failure.

BART service was halted around 5am PT, stranding thousands of commuters on their way to work.

'Due to a computer networking problem BART service is suspended system wide until further notice,' BART Alert shared on X.

BART added that crews are on hand, troubleshooting a 'computer networking problem.'

The rail systems spokesperson Alicia Trost told NBC Bay Area that the control center was unable to power up the system after its daily overnight shutdown.

An image of the Embarcadero BART station shows the entranceway has been taped off and a sign placed in front that reads: 'No train service.' Gates leading into to stations have also been shut.

The system spans 131.4 miles of track throughout California, connecting San Francisco and the East Bay to other parts of the Bay Area.

BART serves more than 165,000 daily riders and more than 50 million annually.

This is a developing story... More updates to come.

......131.4 miles of track throughout California........

I think San Fran is a lot larger than the Bart system, but Cali is far larger than Bart.

Blue city government. It’s a jobs and political program above all.

Any service it provides is a secondary consideration

Decadence brings nothing good. San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Detroit, Baltimore, Chicago sink deeper and deeper into it. Crime. Drug addiction. Failing education. Homeless camps. Political corruption. Election fraud. Confused populations. Infrastructure failure. The failure of once workable systems.

Remember when California was the envy of the world? Today it's a bad joke.

Meanwhile, Florida, Texas, North Carolina, Tennessee, South Carolina, Arkansas etc. continue to soar in ascendancy and in all that is good, wholesome, creative, happy, and successful.

Woke is decadence. MAGA is ascendance.

The left/wokies/Democrats/so-called "progressives" cannot see what's happening, so blinded are they by denial, brain washing, and utter stupidity.

BART serves “131.4 miles of track throughout California.”

That’s news to me. Do those people in Redding, Yreka, Zzyzx, Happy Camp, Dogtown and Morman Bar get good BART Service?

I know what it’s like being stuck on a rail platform, when a problem arises. I was stuck that winter afternoon, when that buzzard shot a bunch of commuters on a different LIRR line, yet managed to put all 3 lines out of action. There was a blizzard making it’s way up to Long Island in this mix, too.

We lived in Antioch (in the east bay area) until 2017. At that point, BART ran in the east bay from Fremont to Richmond, from San Francisco to Daly City with a spur to SFO, and from east Antioch to San Francisco. All those routes could add up to 141 miles.

BART added that crews are on hand, troubleshooting a 'computer networking problem.'

Sometimes it means the one person who knows the system is on vacation, or left for another job. DEI hires take over.
