ANALYSIS First American pope in history has strong record of defending sanctity of human life

Want to know how long the new pope has been active in pro-life?

- Cardinal Robert Prevost, now Pope Leo XIV, was co-founder of the campus right-to-life organization “Villanovans for Life”—the oldest college pro-life club in the U.S. (he was Class of 1977)! @samuelhlee

- @JennieMFL Love that our new Pope is a marcher for Life! 🎉🎈👏

- Robert Prevost @drprevost Marcha por la vida en Chiclayo. ¡Defendamos la vida humana en todo momento!

- @CatHadro And in a sentence I never thought I would write - Pope Leo XIV once retweeted my husband’s news article. “Catholic group to Illinois governor: veto abortion funding bill”

Live Action founder and president Lila Rose also responded to the announcement of Pope Leo XIV in a livestream, reacting to the conclave results.

“Listen, I see people in the chat saying, well, is this a progressive Pope? Is this a conservative Pope? And guys, it doesn’t matter what political label, depending on what statement he makes, you might want to give him one day or the next,” Rose said. “… [T]he Pope cannot change matters of faith and morals from the seat of Peter. So that’s true north. And God in his providence is going to use this new Pope. Have confidence in that.”

“He was elected Pope faster than Shadeur Sanders was drafted.”
Can I write that quote in my memoir?

I guess if he actually turned out to be a decent pope, you’d be out of stuff to rant about.

(On second thought, you’d probably find something...)

He was a Villanova (private university) graduate. He is well thought of by alumni I know from the 70’s. He went there in the Rolli Masamino days. I believe that much like LaSalle, it was a Norberteen Brothers school. A very good school, folks.

i found it...Pollutico entertaining as usual:

“DC will host 2027 NFL Draft in major coup for the city

The announcement comes with the district facing a $1 billion funding shortfall brought on by House Republicans’ March stopgap funding bill.”

Well the shortfall will only be $900 million as the 2025 NFL Draft made Green Bay $100 million

Only Alito and Thomas, and maybe sometimes Roberts are pro-life on the Supreme Court.

Well his father wasn’t involved, intimating he might become the coach of the Vatican.

He reportedly objected to VP Vance’s very articulate statement, which was:

“There is a very Christian concept that you love your family, and then you love your neighbor, and then you love your community, and then you love your fellow citizens in your own country, and then after that, you can focus and prioritize the rest of the world.”

You never know what you are getting. Pius IX was more liberal when he became pope, by after 1848, he moved way in the other direction. Jorge Bergoglio was conservative, who had been bullied by Jesuits for it, until he was separated from the Jesuits.

And there was a pope or two that was heretical - until they became pope.

Alito, Thomas, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett overturned Roe vs. Wade and Planned Parenthood vs. Casey.

Roberts voted against overturning Roe vs. Wade and Planned Parenthood vs. Casey.

The fact that there is an article pointing out the pro life credentials of the pope shows how badly Bergoglio degraded and disgraced the office.
