Thank you very much and God bless you.
My bet is that the “second income” just goes to covering the expenses required for the “second income.”
It would make more sense for the more nurturing parent to stay home and keep a couple of their friend’s kids.
Its been close to it for 20 years now. I didn’t realise just how expensive it was till I was talking to a woman at my work. She had 2 kids in daycare and spent 2/3 of her take home pay each week on them.
She then got mad at me when I said she would do better to just stay home rather than pay strangers most of her pay to keep them. She had a right to work, if she wanted.
When I tried to explain that working part time when her husband was at home would have been better, she just lost it with me. You can’t tell women anything nowadays. No matter how slow or factual you are...
Yep, rather than pay a stranger to raise your kids all of your money, you can just do it yourself...
My bet is that the “second income” just goes to covering the expenses required for the “second income.”
In many cases it is true.
Daycare as an industry is the new Welfare, the majority of daycare is paid by the Gubmint. The majority of daycare providers are like TSA, And Government security personnel DEI hires and ACORN Entrepreneurs !
Obamas Acorn pointed out and targeted areas where lots of Gubmint money could be collected with the very least qualifications and actual effort.
Feminists aren’t women.
That’s about $65 a day. I pay that much to board my dog when I have to. Kids are worth more than that.
Folks spend that much at a bar without blinking an eye.
Most of my friends save a lot, dollar wise, by taking care of their own kids. They place great value on bring up the kids themselves rather than paying a stranger to do it.
They seem to have chosen their parenting partners well too. Kids all know both their parents, know that they are loved, know that ther aren’t just accessories to be pawned off when they aren’t convenient.
My homeschooling friends are allamazing people who have made the decision as to what is important in their lives.
“My bet is that the “second income” just goes to covering the expenses required for the “second income.”
Exactamundo!
The intention of encouraging women to work outside the home was not for couples to get ahead, or to enrich the lives of women, but simply to increase the number of taxpayers.
And that is also why it costs so much money now. I knew someone watching 2 kids for just $150 a week. The regular daycare wanted over $300. Total scam...
How about, no feces, Sherlock. crikey, my job covered the monthly cost of daycare and the car payment 10 years ago-The wife’s job everything else. Kids got good prep for school at a place that was safe and caring but it wasnt cheap.
My god daughter, now a mother of two who are both not yet of kindergarten age, insists on being a “career” woman with a well-paying job she’s able to do on her laptop from home. With her income her and her husband can generally afford a good lifestyle, including out of the home day care for her two small kids. She could not do her work-from-home job and take care of her two kids.
So recently - her husband who also works from home - had to go away on a business trip for a few days. Her youngest child has some kind of infection on her knee and cannot go to the daycare.
So what to do they do - her parents who are my nephew and his wife, who both also still work, flew half way across the country on Tuesday nite to go take care of their two grandkids while their daughter does her work from home job.
I imagine if she did not work from home the savings they would have without the daycare expenses would be enough to offset her loss of income, and she, not the daycare facility, would be raising her daughters.
When I was one year old my mom had six kids the oldest who was 8 years old, while my dad’s military assignments meant she was constantly a “single mom”.
This latest generations selfishly wants so much for themselves, and being full time parents is the last thing they want to do.
There is nothing feminine about feminism, it’s about women wanting to be men.
That may explain why less people are working these days. Our grandkids have the wife not working because she’s homeschooling two kids. If one partner makes a good income, avoiding daycare and giving an education is worth staying home.
I have an idea. Colorado and Washington should raise taxes and the state can pay for it. Democrats are known for doing this, so why wait?
Maybe have to give up your $8 lattes and yearly Sandals vacation, though.
YOU ARE CORRECT-—BUT THE SNOWFLAKES CANNOT SEE THE DOTS-—MUSH LESS CONNECT THE DOTS
About a year after my Father-in-Law retired, my wife’s parents started watching my eldest niece. They then spent almost the next 15+ years watching all 7 of their grandchildren (Sister-in-laws 3, and our 4) first at their house, and later at our house. Those kids got to make valuable memories with my in-laws, and my in-laws got to spend time with their grandchildren.
Far better than any daycare.
