Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) is flipping off Donald Trump, announcing Tuesday he will oppose the president’s nominee for the crucial U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia just hours after Trump called for Senators to support him.
Tillis’s decision, first reported by Breitbart News nine hours before Tillis’s confirmation, could sound the death knell for Trump’s nominee, Ed Martin, who has been serving in the office on an interim basis.
Breitbart News reported Monday that Tillis withholding his supporting was the critical impediment to Martin’s nomination being advanced before the Senate Judiciary Committee. Without Tillis’s support, Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IO) would not bring Martin’s nomination to the floor.

He’s probably pissed that nobody likes him.

Maybe its personal.. or maybe he thinks this votes makes his re-election chances better.. I have no idea.
What I do know is he is probably the most vulnerable Republican senator in 2026.
RINO POS. Wish we could primary him. He will probably lose the seat to the ‘Rats in 2026, as he has alienated pretty much everyone.
I guess Tillis wants DC Judge James Boasberg to name the judge.

Thune needs to squeeze him a bit until he sees the light.
All hell will rain down on Tillis if Boasberg gets to appoint the judge.
There is still intrigue as a ‘no’ vote ties the committee vote at 11-11. A ‘present’ vote means 11-10 passage.
He’ll get some heavy pressure, no doubt. And promise of an ambassadorship to play ball. Read the room, Thom....your Senate days are over.
Ha! That will never happen.
He has no primary challenger, that is his problem. Trump better not endorse him again.
This ass-hat is always looking for attention.
Leave him temporary until congress goes out on vacation and appoint him when congress isn’t in session.
