NEW YORK, May 4. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump did not rule out using military force to establish control over Greenland.
"I don’t rule it out. I don’t say I’m going to do it, but I don’t rule out anything. No, not there. We need Greenland very badly. Greenland has a very small amount of people, which we’ll take care of, and we’ll cherish them, and all of that," he told NBC News in an interview.
"But we need that for international security. Do you know, we have Russian boats and we have Chinese boats, gunships all over the place — aircraft carriers, gunships — going up and down the coast of Greenland. We need that to be protected. Internationally we need it."

Russia is not our friend. They’re willing to imply that Trump is willing to use military force on Greenland, while they are invading and devastating Ukraine.

Someone should go back and look hard at the treaty for any loopholes that might allow us to expand the purchased territory by just a bit, eh?

America should financially incentivize the residents of Greenland to vote to become part of the United States of America.
A million dollars per current resident would work.
Greenland can be a semi-autonomous province of the United States of America.
As a semi-autonomous province, they can retain all of the good things that they have now, while according 50% of the natural resources to America in return for protection and support.
Oh Donnie. That's just gibberish. We do not have Russian or Chinese aircraft carriers sailing up and down the cost of Greenland. And if they were - who cares? Should we freak out if they are off the coast of Morocco or New Guinea or Madagascar and prep for invasion there too?
Congress, not President, has this power. Either someone is lying or Trump is being bad. As always, I put the Constitution first.
We should take Vancouver Island and call it Greenerland.
Russia will either be a friend of America or a suburb of China.
As an aside, how would we use the military to take Greenland when Greenland has no army.
Wouldn't it be better to just give each of its 58,000 citizens a big check of say $50 million or so. Or give them royalty claims on the rare earth minerals to be mined.
I have to admit, it never occurred to me that Greenland has rivers!
If Greenland is needed for the US to effectively support NATO then Congress needs to act or Trump needs to pull us out of NATO. The most ideal situation would be to have a treaty ratified by Denmark, Greenland, UK, Canada, and USA about Greenland. Without such a treaty we definitely should pull out of Greenland & if this weakens our ability with NATO then to pull out of NATO too.
The USA should be a good partner. But if they FA then they are FAFO.

President Trump should have to power to ignore bad part of the law just by the mere thought of it.
We want good leaders, just like I wanted president Reagan to serve for life.
Trump can never be bad and can never do wrong.
