Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said Saturday she declined President Trump’s offer for US troops to crack down on the fentanyl produced by cartels in her country.
The world leaders spoke recently by phone when Trump broached the topic of making American military service members available for operations inside Mexico, where traffickers concoct the deadly synthetic opioid using precursor chemicals imported primarily from China.
“I told him, ‘No, President Trump, our territory is inviolable, our sovereignty is inviolable, our sovereignty is not for sale,'” Sheinbaum revealed during an event. We will never accept the presence of the United States Army in our territory,” she said.
*** Thousands of Mexican and US troops were already deployed to their respective sides of the border in February.
Since January, the Drug Enforcement Administration has seized thousands of kilos of fentanyl, enough to kill more than 119 million Americans***
It remains the leading cause of death for Americans ages 18 to 44, according to the CDC. Sheinbaum did accept an offer on the April 16 call to receive more intelligence from the US, per the report.
Trump was also asked by Mexico to thwart more arms traffickers crossing the border into Mexico.
Decisive actions were taken against organized crime and fentanyl trafficking, as well as bilateral meetings on security and trade,” she said in March as the threat of 25% tariffs from the US against her country loomed. *** “The cartels are waging war on America, and it’s time for America to wage war on the cartels, which we are doing,” Trump said in his first joint address to Congress that month.
“The territory to the immediate south of our border is now dominated entirely by criminal cartels that murder, rape, torture and exercise total control,” he told lawmakers.***

Thank you very much and God bless you.
For what it’s worth, since Trump took office in January, 85 miles of border wall have been built, or partially built, or planned but not yet built. The exact number of miles completed in 2025 by the federal government vary depending upon the source. According to Border Patrol Deputy Chief David BeMilller, "more than 50 miles of permanent and temporary sections of the wall have been constructed since Trump was inaugurated Jan. 20.
Not one dime of taxpayer money should be spent on foreign aid until the wall is completed.
So she didn’t give a real reason, just empty polemic.
You have to wonder how many times we are going to ask before we tell her that surgical strikes are on the way.
“...our sovereignty is not for sale...”
Yet she is p0wn3d by the cartels.
Funny how the European woman calling herself El Presidente de Mexico is so concerned about her sovereignty but has continued a policy of mass destruction of our sovereignty that Mexico has engaged in for over a century now.
Is she getting a kickback? Everything about Mexico is corrupt.
Can’t have a crackdown on her puppetmasters.
our sovereignty is not for sale
actually it is
they already have a buyer
maybe Trump would like to outbid them
but he is not allowed to destroy the revenue stream
Yet they invade us
Attack Mexican government employees?
Because the Mexican Government gets paid by the cartels
Mustering that level of pipsqueak pomposity, you KNOW she's getting her cut of the profits, and can't finish the renovations to her house this summer without it.
“I told him, ‘No, President Trump, my ass is on the line and I’ll be dead by sundown if I allow the U.S. military to go after the cartels” Sheinbaum revealed during an event.
Indeed.
Well, Mexico is doing a crappy job.
(trying to work “Montezuma’s Revenge” into a joke here and I got nuthin).
Send the cartels, their mules, and their drugs over to our side and we’ll kill ‘em here.
No fuss no muss God can sort them out.
I hope that’s the plan.
Didn’t Red China already muscle in on the Cartels? Might be hard to buy them about.
She’s afraid of the Cartels.
“So she didn’t give a real reason, just empty polemic.”
I would be shocked if she had said yes. Reverse the situation. Suppose England offered to send troops to protect Floridians from some problem. Imagine what the president’s opponents would say if he said yes. He would, without question lose the next election. All politics is local. It doesn’t care what is happening someplace else. That’s the nature of the beast.
Every nation does whatever they perceive to be in their interests. Every politician with few exceptions, does what he perceives to be in his personal interest first and the national interest second. Accepting foreign troops on your soil is not in Mexico’s perceived interest and it would be a career killer for the politician who said OKAY, do it.
Everyone in Mexico is pretty much owned by the cartels
