A surprising shift is underway at the bottom of the world. After decades of contributing to rising sea levels, Antarctica’s massive ice sheet has started growing again — at least for now.
A study published this week in Science China Earth Sciences finds that the Antarctic Ice Sheet (AIS) experienced a record-breaking mass gain between 2021 and 2023, largely due to anomalous increases in precipitation. The rebound is especially significant in East Antarctica, where four major glacier basins had previously shown signs of destabilization.

You raise a very good curiosity. We know it is the driest desert on the Planet and your theory has merit. But it begs the question of how then did it gain ice and size during all the previous Global cooling and Glacial periods? Because it would be counterintuitive to your proposal wouldn’t it?
We need to hurry up and dim the sun so that the ice goes away.
The Climate Change Hustlers have a busted thermometer and didn’t know it. Our Climate is alive and well and makes adjustments as it was made to do because of nonstandard changes in the atmosphere.
Oh, BS! There has been no total decrease in Antarctic ice. The global warming arseholes do a measurement on one portion and proclaim the end of the world.
When they need more $$ they do another biased measurement.
My first thought too. They just make statements as though they’re just a ‘matter of fact’, when they’re really just assertions. I suppose, if you live in that bubble, there’s no question about it and don’t realize how it sounds to those outside the bubble.
It also drives me nuts when people claim that the sea level is higher in a particular area! As though Archimedes Principle doesn’t apply. I had a family member ask a friend, who lives in Florida, if the sea level (in Florida) is as high as ‘she had heard’.

Yep, like an A/C system it is actually a closed system. It extracts heat from one end of the system and releases it on the other end of the system elsewhere.
So that means if it is getting warmer in one area it is also getting equally cooler in the area it extracted that heat from.
And they are deceptively only reporting the warming and not the opposite cooling that is happening simultaneously that counteracts that warming.

I actually think that is the agenda towards population control. I think they are trying to hasten the inevitable glacial period coming.

I’m 75 years old. 3/4 of a century. I can tell you that globull warming will not affect my life one bit.
