Thursday on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360,” senior political commentator Van Jones spoke with a group of African Americans in South Carolina who explained why they voted for and continue to support President Donald Trump.
Seth Dawkins said, “I mean, part of it is he’s an &&&^&^&. I like — I like authenticity.”
Detra German said, “It just opened my eyes to maybe he’s not this person that I have been led to believe that he was.”
Kyasia Kraft said, “I saw how things were going during his first term, and I was pleasantly surprised, and I was pleased with what was happening. I saw the economy getting better. I saw country relations in certain countries getting better.”
Dawkins added, “For me, I like the border. I just don’t like the idea of someone coming here illegally and getting benefits that can serve my community so that’s the reason why I support him on that border policy.”

Thank you very much and God bless you.
It’s always nice to see smug lefties face humiliation in some way.
Van Jones said Trump’s first election was a whitelash, a racist reaction. He’s got to be flummoxed about black folks supporting Trump.
“I just don’t like the idea of someone coming here illegally and getting benefits that can serve my community”
Funny how the ‘Progressives’ zero sum game includes the rich but excludes the illegals and Humanitarian Parolees getting benefits such as SSI, housing, SNAP, Medicaid, etc.
Van Jones: “So I must ask my house negro guests, why did you vote for Donald Trump in the 2024 election, knowing that he wants to put all of you back in chains? How could you betray your race? Did you not hear our massa when you were told to vote for Kamala Harris, and then go back to picking cotton on our utopian plantation? Why, why, WHY, you race traitors”
"It's hard to be a parent tonight...You tell your kids, don't be a bully. You tell your kids, don't be a bigot...Then you have this outcome, and you have people putting children to bed tonight...I have families of immigrants who are terrified tonight...This was a whitelash." -- Van Jones Nov. 2016
Boohoo!!
Van thought he’d get the “bros” to say what he wanted them to say
The married blacks (typically the ones who come to the group) seem to be all in on what's best for them financially. That ain't the Dims. And the married blacks say so loudly.
Interesting
Something tells me a good number of them will not return to the democrats. My transformation came in ‘84 when Reagan ran for reelection. I was 30 years old at the time. Now the 18-29 year olds are veering towards Trump.
When this transformation is complete we can then call out the Jews-what’s their excuse?
Good report. Democrats think blacks are as uneducated and malleable as ever. They are just starting to learn blacks have progressed, a lot. My family partnership sold land to a black church for a church-school complex and carried the mortgage because they couldn’t get approved by a bank. We carried them for 6 years, one late payment (by 10 days) over 72 months. Then they were able to get a construction loan and pay us off. Nice church and school there now. How did we decide to give them a shot? We visited their church, met with them and liked them.
IMHO it’s one of many signs that we might be in the next Great Awakening. We just can’t see it cuz we’re in it.
It was a good interview. I’m surprised they allowed the younger woman to explain how TRUMP was simply trolling everyone with the third term bit. Not surprised when the piece transitions back to Anderson and Van in the studio and Van explains how they are misinformed because they use social media for their information.
For years, decades ago, I went to an Assembly of God church that was about 90% white, though about 30% of the people close to my age were black, so about 1/3rd of my close circle of friends were black. When I'd ask friends, black or white, what made them decided to join the church. Almost all of the blacks said they got tired of hearing blame-the-whitey messages every Sunday in their prior black churches. And hearing an every now and then pro-abortion statement from the leaders woke them up to modern hedonism creeping into their churches. So they tried a white church that was "evangelical" (read: not politically Democrat).
That and other things going on (unrelated to race) makes me think we're probably in the next Great Awakening.
bkmk
**My transformation came in ‘84 when Reagan ran for reelection. I was 30 years old at the time.**
I’m the same age as you. I was an ignorant farm kid/part-time college student at age 21, when our feed salesman told me to get registered to vote. He told who to see. So when there and got it done. Didn’t realize I had just signed as a member of the Dem party (ok, I was ignorant AND stupid).
At the next general election (76), I voted straight R. I just was turned off by the Dems, because of Chicago running IL.
The feed salesman told my dad, and Dad (a life long R, laughed.
After the Carter Administration all but destroyed the US farm economy I was convinced that the Dems were anti-American. I married a city girl, whose parents were Dems. She saw through the smoke and mirrors, and has always voted R.
with a Save-a-Life building.”
What is that?
Save-a-life is a pro-life organization that partners with churches to help pregnant women struggling with the decision of what to do with an unplanned pregnancy. I’ve seen them sprinkled around in Alabama at some majority white churches.
Young folks are easily swayed by the siren call of the left. When they have money in their pocket and bills to pay their thinking can change. We have to do our part by explaining more our successes and the left’s failures. No help from the schools or the MSM.
