Trump gives Zelensky dire warning on Russia-Ukraine war: Accept peace or risk ‘losing the whole country’

President Trump issued a stark warning to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday, saying Kyiv’s leader was in a “dire” situation and “can have Peace or, he can fight for another three years before losing the whole Country.”

Trump, 78, was responding to Zelensky telling reporters Tuesday that “Ukraine will not legally recognize the [Russian] occupation of Crimea” — a key part of a US-proposed peace plan under discussion in London Wednesday, and a condition that has long been a red line for Kyiv.

“This statement is very harmful to the Peace Negotiations with Russia in that Crimea was lost years ago under the auspices of President Barack Hussein Obama, and is not even a point of discussion,” the president seethed on Truth Social. “Nobody is asking Zelenskyy to recognize Crimea as Russian Territory but, if he wants Crimea, why didn’t they fight for it eleven years ago when it was handed over to Russia without a shot being fired?”

Trump a decade ago criticized Obama for not intervening when Russia annexed Crimea. Kyiv has been working since 2014 to get its territory back and expel Russians from eastern Ukraine.

Now, the US is proposing formally recognizing the Black Sea peninsula as Russian territory — which would represent a major change to American foreign policy, a senior administration official told The Post.

“There’s a doctrine out there called the Welles Declaration, that goes back to 1940, that says that the United States will not acknowledge the occupation of a foreign land by another nation,” the official said.

“We don’t say that this is your result, but we acknowledge the fact that it’s annexed physically, but you don’t own the land you’re on.”

When President Trump said he would end the Ukraine war within 24 hours of taking office, he didn't know he would be negotiating with an irrational, little jerk.

irrational, little jerk.

Irrational? Without ANY real security guarantee from the next Putin invasion, why should Ukraine recognize the annexation of Crimea? So that in the next invasion Ukraine must recognize the annexation of Donbas, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, etc.

Putin himself has repeatedly made clear that he denies Ukraine's right to exist and is determined to extinguish Ukrainian statehood.

Putin in 2021 posted a 5,000 world essay on why Ukrainian statehood was a historical mistake.

If Zelensky insists on remaining pig headed, Trump should just cut him loose.

Considering his position, the arrogance of the guy is astounding.

It’s interesting and a little more than coincidental that the three attempted assassins of Trump had Ukraine connections and the fat traitor Vindman, the driving force behind the impeachment, is Ukrainian. I see a pattern here.

Gotta admit Ukraine got its money’s worth with the bribes to the Bidens. Putin is more than welcome to it. He’d be a major improvement over Zelensky.

“Without ANY real security guarantee from the next Putin invasion, why should Ukraine recognize the annexation of Crimea?”

Because the only security guarantee they are going to get comes from Moscow.

Without so much as one thin dime from our country. Enough with this jerk.

When this war ends, so does Z. He’s fighting for his life, at the expense of others.

Zelensky isn't going to agree to peace deal or sign a rare earths deal.

It's time to walk away and cutoff all assistance to Ukraine.

You're lying.

The Russians perfectly fine with Ukraine existing so long as it honored its 1996 Constitutional pledge to remain neutral toward Russia.

An illegal coup that installed a government hostile to Moscow and the Russian population in Ukraine violated that pledge. It was a coup, that outrageously, threatened Russia's naval base in Crimea, one that it had operated since before the US Constitution was written.

No rational person believes Russia was going to or should have tolerated that.

Nor did the people in the annexed area that voted for a President that ILLEGALLY removed from office have ANY obligation to remain part of Ukraine.

You and your ilk consistently have defended the indefensible and spread propaganda here. And, it has had us closer to WW III and nuclear war than we were during the Cold War.

Ukraine isn't getting territory back. Fighting on can only result in more of a loss of territory and more lost lives.

Thus, if Zelensky wants to continue this war, Trump needs to cutoff all assistance to Ukraine.

Guess what, EVERY country has the right to enter ANY treaty, its why they are INDEPENDENT.

Russia wants Ukraine to be a subservient country like Belarus.

threatened Russia's naval base in Crimea,

LOL, sure thats why Russia drove its army to Ukraines capitol in 2021 after already seizing Crimea in 2014. Makes sense

Did Putin post a 5,000 world essay in 2021 on why Ukrainian statehood was a historical mistake?

Z might be more than just irritating Trump. It’s disturbing that some of the Trump assassins apparently have connections with Ukrainians.

Then why did Putin reject Zelensky's offer of no NATO in return for Russian withdrawal?

An illegal coup that installed a government hostile to Moscow and the Russian population in Ukraine violated that pledge.

The government in Ukraine was elected by the Ukrainian people, it was not "installed" by the CIA. But keep repeating that lie.

Nor did the people in the annexed area that voted for a President that ILLEGALLY removed from office have ANY obligation to remain part of Ukraine.

Yes they did. They should have sought a peacefully political solution to what happened. But in any case, the "people in the annexed area" were given no choice. The area was seized militarily by Russian backed militants before there could be a peaceful solution. The so-called referenda are a joke and anyone who would claim their legitimacy only shows their dishonesty.

Withdraw from where?

The people in the annexed areas have NO desire to go back to being part of Ukraine.

It would ridiculous to enslave the people there under a government has been persecuting and killing them for over a decade.
