Another day, another leak.
More information on the second Hegseth Signal chat group was leaked to NBC News.
As previously reported, three Hegseth aides placed on leave amid a probe into leaks were officially fired last Friday.
Following the terminations, contents of another Signal group chat with Pete Hegseth were leaked to The Wall Street Journal.
“Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth created a Signal chat with his wife, his personal lawyer and others, and posted sensitive military information into it, people familiar with the matter said Sunday, a revelation that has added to the increasing scrutiny of the novice leader,” The Wall Street Journal reported.
“Hegseth was already facing questions for writing flight plans and other details about a military operation ahead of U.S. strikes on Houthi rebels in Yemen into a Signal chat with senior Trump administration officials. Hegseth posted nearly the same information into another chat featuring his wife and other aides that don’t require real-time knowledge of the mission, a person familiar with the chat said,” The Wall Street Journal reported.
More information on this Signal chat group was leaked to NBC News after Hegseth attacked the leakers while attending the White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday.
According to the latest leak, the information Hegseth shared in the Signal chat group came from a top general who leads US Central Command.
Army Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla sent Hegseth the ‘sensitive’ information over secure system. According to the latest leak, Hegseth shared some of the information in the Signal chat group.
NBC News reported:
Minutes before U.S. fighter jets took off to begin strikes against Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen last month, Army Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, who leads U.S. Central Command, used a secure U.S. government system to send detailed information about the operation to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
The material Kurilla sent included details about when U.S. fighters would take off and when they would hit their targets — details that could, if they fell into the wrong hands, put the pilots of those fighters in grave danger. But he was doing exactly what he was supposed to: providing Hegseth, his superior, with information he needed to know and using a system specifically designed to safely transmit sensitive and classified information.
But then Hegseth used his personal phone to send some of the same information Kurilla had given him to at least two group text chats on the Signal messaging app, three U.S. officials with direct knowledge of the exchanges told NBC News.
Hegseth went on Fox & Friends on Tuesday and attacked the leakers.
“I’m here because President Trump asked me to bring war-fighting back to the Pentagon every single day,” Hegseth said on Fox & Friends on Tuesday.
“If people don’t like it, come after me, no worries. I’m standing here, the warfighters are behind us, our enemies know they’re on notice, our allies know we are behind them, and that in this dangerous world, for the American people, is what it is all about.”
“What was shared over Signal, then and now, however you characterize it, was informal, unclassified coordinations for media coordination, other things. That’s what I’ve said from the beginning,” Hegseth said.

It sounds like somebody who was in that chat is a leaker.
Weren’t there people who were saying that if they got fired they would leak info to hostile countries? Seems to me that people like that are trying to hold the entire US hostage, and they belong in Gitmo.

A husband who tells anybody from the media - including his wife - something that is not for media consumption should be fired or not given access to the info in the first place. And every wife should know that if she leaks she is signing her husband’s firing notice if not worse.
This is again a situation where if they want to say this was classified information then their leaking it is a crime. If they are willing to leak it, then they are tacitly admitting it is not classified info.
Same old, same old. it’s sort of like the kid ratting on another kid for not having his eyes closed during the prayer.

No doubt, there are millions of leftovers from the Biden and Obama administration who have it in for Trump and anybody in his cabinet/administration. The only way to prevent the leaks and hostilities against Trump and his people, is to fire them all. That won’t happen so, it’s important to make sure that none of the holdovers have access to anything important being done by Trump and staff.
Hegseth is a republican and very anti-democrat, so, he can expect that he’s going to be under the democrat microscope fo the entirety of his leadership in the DOD. And democrats will be trying like hell to get at least one of Trump’s cabinet members fired or resigned, which they can then use to accuse Trump of being careless with running the country. Just one is all the democrats want. Hegseth is a prime
candidate for the democrats’ wrath.
If Hegseth was as careless as the previous head of the DOD, he would have resigned by now, or he would have been fired. The standards are different and republicans would also be asking for Pete’s head if they see things the same way as democrats.
That actually would be worth checking out. Isn’t there some judge’s wife or somebody politically connected who is on the board of Signal?
Self inflicted wounds aren’t necessary. Hegseth can end these stories by:
1). Not speaking about operations to any individual (including spouse) without a need to know until after the end of the operation.
2). Trust no one.
3). Find or develop alternative “secure” communication network. Signal is not working for you.
Then STFU, find a secure bunker and only communicate with need to know.
