Climate change poses major security threat and armies must adapt, experts warn

Security experts say that climate change should not become a strategic "blind spot" and militaries must respond to the evolving threat of weather disaster. Their warning comes amid growing concerns that climate action is being sidelined as Europe beefs up defence and the US retreats from allies and its green commitments.

"You can't escape this. Climate doesn't care who's president or what your political goals are at the moment," said Erin Sikorsky, director of the Washington-based Center for Climate & Security.

"It is coming, and militaries need to be prepared," she said.

In the US, where President Donald Trump's administration has scrubbed global warming from government websites, the latest intelligence threat assessment made no mention of climate change.

It’s Europe. Put a pair of Daisy Dukes in their backpack. Extras. since they likely own a pair.

Their funding has been cut off and they’re trying their scam on Euro governments.

*************************************************************************

Akin to, and largely responsible for the sweeping changes in our industrial-military posture, has been the technological revolution during recent decades.
In this revolution, research has become central; it also becomes more formalized, complex, and costly. A steadily increasing share is conducted for, by, or at the direction of, the Federal government.

Today, the solitary inventor, tinkering in his shop, has been over shadowed by task forces of scientists in laboratories and testing fields. In the same fashion, the free university, historically the fountainhead of free ideas and scientific discovery, has experienced a revolution in the conduct of research. Partly because of the huge costs involved, a government contract becomes virtually a substitute for intellectual curiosity. For every old blackboard there are now hundreds of new electronic computers.

The prospect of domination of the nation’s scholars by Federal employment, project allocations, and the power of money is ever present and is gravely to be regarded.

Yet, in holding scientific research and discovery in respect, as we should, we must also be alert to the equal and opposite danger that public policy could itself become the captive of a scientific-technological elite.

It is the task of statesmanship to mold, to balance, and to integrate these and other forces, new and old, within the principles of our democratic system-ever aiming toward the supreme goals of our free society.

Everything in that stupid article just applies a climate catastrophe scenario to fit every anecdote mentioned. Completely retarded and gay.

I have to laugh when I think of what Patton would have said about climate change.

sure. because no army in the world has ever had to battle inclement weather while at battle with the enemy. pretty sure the climate bozos think the battle of the bulge was fought in shorts and tee’s. or Rommel’s afrika Corp had no idea what REAL heat in a battle was. and how about those jungles of Cambodia! no sweat there. of course it’s worse now fighting in the middle east because of the march of the dreaded “global climate change” and war cannot be conducted under the same ideal weather conditions the past soldiers of history have enjoyed. yes my friends, wars of the future will be impossible to conduct because global climate change and war are incompatible. IF this post seems sarcastic in any way, shape or form I extend my deepest appreciation to the family because YOU GET IT. my liberal friend didn’t.

Climate change = MAJOR FRAUD ON THE WHOLE WORLD.

Climate may be changing, or it may not, but nowhere as swiftly as proclaimed by the alarmists, and certainly not for any known anthropogenic reasons. The change agent most frequently pointed to, carbon dioxide, simply does not exist in sufficient quantity to have any measurable effect on atmospheric, oceanic or terrestrial temperatures overall.

There is only ONE “greenhouse gas” that has ANY effect on weather, planetary warming or cooling, or on its results on lives everywhere, and that is - water vapor. Physicists and chemists have studied its effects for decades, centuries even, and come away, astonished and awed, at the immense effects that water in all its forms (ice, liquid, or steam) can exert on the environment.

Atmospheric water vapor is a highly variable constituent of the air we breathe in every minute of every day. It freezes, condenses into liquid, or floats upward as fog and ascends to tremendous heights as cloud formations. There is an enormous amount of heat exchange, either losing or gaining heat energy, as the water molecule transfers between each of these states of matter, and THAT is the driver of changing weather, not carbon dioxide, which can do none of these things under normal terrestrial conditions.

So far as most “climate science” has developed, it is largely GIGO - garbage in, garbage out. Way too many irrational hypotheses have been proposed, and none of them relate back to real-world conditions.

Are they saying the armed forces are causing climate change, or that armies will need to make changes to adapt to climate change?
