Alleged MS-13 gangbanger Kilmar Abrego Garcia was seen “sipping margaritas” with Sen. Chris Van Hollen Thursday amid his high-profile deportation battle, according to photos shared by El Salvador President Nayib Bukele. Bukele shared three pics of the Democratic Maryland lawmaker meeting with Abrego Garcia — who was wrongly deported to El Salvador’s notorious megaprison last month — lounging in the country’s “tropical paradise” with what appeared to be salt-rimmed drinking glasses containing an unknown liquid and a cherry.

“Kilmar Abrego Garcia, miraculously risen from the ‘death camps’ & ‘torture’, now sipping margaritas with Sen. Van Hollen in the tropical paradise of El Salvador,” Bukele said in an X post Thursday night. “Now that he’s been confirmed healthy, he gets the honor of staying in El Salvador’s custody,” Bukele, who said earlier this week that he has no intention of returning Abrego Garcia to the US, wrote in a separate post.

They’re losing a lot in court even if the supremes are not a solid 5.

Slowing things down sucks but they are not stopping anything.

And even at lower court levels we have had a number of victories.

We just focus on the losses...albeit temporary because we don’t want any slowdowns.

But we are winning and winning in many ways.

If they didn’t have the courts stuffed well enough to win this past election, I don’t think they will in another 4ish years.

For years leftist Democrats have become accustomed to acting out against common sense and public sentiment because they knew they would be shielded by the media. Their excesses would either be rationalized or, more likely, spiked and not covered.

Rarely called to account but rather shielded by the media, leftists' human nature played out to excess and leftist illusions became reality in their minds; that was inevitable as they repeatedly escaped exposure or consequences.

Today, we see Chris Van Holland making a fool of himself in El Salvador and the lunacy of AOC emerging as the leader of the Democrat party, both crusading for alien criminals when that policy is extremely unpopular.

A sober analysis of the Democrat party's paroxysms when they rage against deporting alien criminals would tell them that they are on the losing end of that equation in the minds of the public. Yet they persist.

Either that persistence is born of mindless desperation, it is but convulsions born of frustration as Democrats have grown oblivious to the harm they are doing to themselves because no one tells them.

Lesson for conservatives? Do not succumb to the human tendency to seek confirmation or to avoid unpalatable reality. Do not close down debate in the name of party unity. Test conservatism in the fire of honest exchange of ideas. Emerge battle tested and battle worthy. Know what you believe because you proved those beliefs under stress.

Avoid at all costs confusing orthodoxy with patriotism.
