The Remarkable Rags-to-Riches Story of Stacey Abrams
RealClear Investigations ^ | 4/16/25 | Paul Sperry

Posted on 04/17/2025 5:41:23 AM PDT by CFW

By her own admission, Stacey Abrams has made a number of "personal financial missteps” in her career. Despite a history marked by bill collectors, tax liens, and ethics investigations, the Georgia politician and Democratic Party activist has managed to amass a small fortune – while working most of her career in the not-for-profit sector.

Financial records show that when she first entered statewide politics in 2018, she reported a net worth of less than $109,000. By 2022, the last year she had to publicly file a financial report, it had grown to more than $3.2 million. Abrams is probably even better off than that, thanks to her latest venture: Rewiring America, which uses federal funds to provide low-income people with free electric appliances.

The green-energy startup hired Abrams as senior counsel in 2023 after she helped secure federal funding for the nonprofit by putting together an umbrella group that applied for and won grants totaling $1.9 billion from the Biden Environmental Protection Agency, according to a podcast interview she gave last year. Those funds were frozen last month by the Trump administration while it investigates the grant application and award process along with Congress.

[snip]

But in the seven years since then, Abrams has seen a miraculous turnaround in her finances – going from someone with “precious little” to a multimillionaire. And it all happened after she ran unsuccessfully for governor of Georgia, first in 2018 and then again in 2022, during which she raised a combined $81 million. It’s unusual. Most politicians build wealth after reaching high office, but Abrams did so after losses vaulted her to celebrity status, achieved in part by blaming racially discriminatory voter suppression for her loss.

"After running for statewide office and helping Biden win Georgia in 2020, Abrams almost overnight has become a multimillionaire with a 4,100-square-foot home near Emory University valued at more than $1.4 million and more than $727,000 in stocks and bonds."

This is a good article from Paul Sperry on Stacy Abrams and her journey from being constantly in debt, with tax liens as well, into being worth several million dollars.

Abrams is now involved with several "non-profit" organizations. I suspect our tax dollars have been going into Abram's bank accounts over the past seven years.

Someone (Soros?) picked her to run again Kemp in 2016 and promised they would make it worth her while. Remember, she received a large percentage of the vote. Are Georgia voters really that stupid or were the majority of those votes due to fraud?

Another libtard grifter. No morals, no conscience, no dignity, no class. Al Sharpton is proud of her.

Abrams appears to fully grok the idea “if at first you don’t succeed, try something else” way through life.

The grift is strong in this family:

Leslie Abrams Gardner is the daughter of the Reverend Carolyn and the Reverend Robert Abrams, originally of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was one of six children. Her older sister Stacey Abrams is the former House Minority Leader in the Georgia General Assembly, and the Democratic nominee for governor in the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial election and 2022 Georgia gubernatorial election.

Another race-bating, race-hustling, corrupt democrat. This barely qualifies as news.

It’s as morally uplifting as the rag-to-riches story of a bankrobber.

Rags to riches rat style.

where a low information, inexperienced, racist person of a protected class can rise to power through DEI, AFFIRMATIVE ACTION, CRT and other nefarious non white tax payer funded programs to be able to feed from the DNC trough and get special funding from Soros affiliated anti American activist networks for invisible, fictitious made up programs that don’t exist to enrich themselves. Now ask me how I really. Im feel. waiting for indictments but I am not holding my breath

Stealing from banks is not a very noble thing, but the money is insured, and I don’t exactly feel too bad for the banks or the ins. cos. But stealing from taxpayers is worse. She should be in prison and serve at least as much time as an armed robber (who hasn’t shot anyone).

There is plenty of money for racism made available by the far left by diverting tax dollars to “special grants” to promote CRT, DEI, Affirmative Action, and racist organizations. Just ask Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Bragg, James, etc., etc.

How do you think the banks pay for the insurance policies for money stolen in a bank robbery? They don't take it out of the salaries of the bank presidents or BODs. Eventually it comes out as a reduced interest rate they pay depositors. And if the interest rate gets down to zero, the banks then may even charge for holding on to your deposit (a negative interest rate).

The number of bank robberies has declined dramatically over the past 20 years. The banks charge more than ever for the most trivial things. Some charge you to make withdrawals. The decrease in robberies has not been reflected in lower costs. Screw the banks and ins. cos.
