Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Monday that she would rescind a Biden-era gun policy that yanked licenses from federally licensed firearm dealers if they intentionally falsified records or sold weapons without running a background check.
The policy — known as the “zero-tolerance” policy — was viewed by conservatives as a punitive rule that stripped law-abiding gun sellers of their licenses for making simple mistakes on forms. But Biden administration officials said the rule was intended to crack down on “rogue gun dealers.” They said it specifies that officials would only revoke licenses if sellers committed willful violations of the federal Gun Control Act, not for paperwork errors.
Trump administration officials also said Monday in a news release that they plan to examine the framework of two other Biden-era gun regulations: One that required more checks on people who purchase stabilizing braces — an accessory that effectively transforms pistols into more deadly rifles — and a

Fine but I want to start seeing RATs in handcuffs.
That would be nice.
Licenses were being yanked over trivial paperwork errors….
The first sentence in the article is a lie. The sellers didn’t intentionally falsified records. They just needed to make a minor mistake on one box to be banned.

I would love to see the LBJ era 1968 gun control law repealed. The US got along for 190 years without it.
HOW DID THIS WORK OUT FOR YOU AMERICA!
“Today we begin to disarm the criminal and the careless and the insane. All of our people who are deeply concerned in this country about law and order should hail this day.”-— Lyndon Johnson signing the 1968 gun control act into law.
And Thomas J. Dodd, who wrote the 1968 gun control act using the 1938 Nazi Weapons Law as a pattern...
“No one can predict how many lives will be spared because of this bill, but, if the bloody record of our yesterdays is any measure, millions of future Americans will live to enjoy the promise of many peaceful tomorrows.
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to play a part in this great moment in our time.”— Thomas J. Dodd on passage of the 1968 Gun control act.
Once signed into law they did not turn out the lights and go home. They went to the next step in calling for more bans and confiscation. Now they are after rifles, something they said that they would never do.
The article is misleading at best, an outright lie is a better description.
stabilizing braces — an accessory that effectively transforms pistols into more deadly rifles”
It’s the WaPo. Don’t expect them to know that the brace does NOTHING to make a firearm more deadly.
That's BS.
"WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week, America First Legal (AFL) and the Texas Public Policy Foundation (TPPF) secured a major victory over the Biden-Harris Administration when the Department of Justice’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) reversed its unlawful policy allowing the agency to revoke federal firearms sales licenses (FFL) over minor paperwork errors."
That’s a first step. Now they need to take the second step which is compensating those whose businesses were ruined when ATF Thugs operating at the behest of the tyrannical Biden administration yanked their licenses for trivial paperwork errors.
Compensate them from the ATF’s budget. If that means you have to fire 90% of the people in the ATF to be able to pay up....so be it.
I worked at a FFL dealer last year while the ATF went through all the 4473s and a current bound book since the last audit.
We must have had a particularly good pair of agents because they were polite, thorough, helpful and didn’t make a huge deal about the paperwork errors that we had. They instructed us on how to correct the errors. I think the worst error we had was a customer neglected to sign the form, but even then they allowed us to correct it.
They even answered some questions we had. One was when an old fellow with poor eyesight came in and requested that we read the questions to him and fill it out as he instructed. The answer is no, employees cannot assist in filling out the 4473, but we can attempt to clarify the question if the customer asks. He could, however, have a friend come in and assist him.
It is my opinion that the “zero tolerance” policies weren’t as bad as everyone feared.
That is true. The bar was tiny to lose your license.
Whatever she does, won’t be enough for the cadre’ of Bondi haters here......
I’ll see your 1968 GCA and raise you a 1934 NFA. That is when the infringements really got rolling.
“I would love to see the LBJ era 1968 gun control law repealed. The US got along for 190 years without it.”
Any and all gun laws since 1900, including the 1935 Firearms Act and the dissolution of the ATF, must occur soon.
The Bruen decision neutered everything mentioned above.
> It is my opinion that the “zero tolerance” policies weren’t as bad as everyone feared.
They were bad unless you’re willing to make a liar out of the shops that lost their licenses and the people who reported on them.
The bad policy empowered bad agents to do bad things. That is exactly the wrong kind of policy. It’s lawless and evil.
We don’t hate Spam Bondi [Jeff Sessions II] we just think she was the wrong choice for AG - just like Bill Barr was.
for sure. Blondie, Spam Bondi.
