Griswold, a Democrat and Colorado’s current secretary of state, called herself the “most qualified person in this race” given her experience pushing back against Donald Trump
Secretary of State Jena Griswold announced Monday morning that she is running to become Colorado’s next attorney general, framing her candidacy and qualifications around her experience pushing back against the Trump administration.
“Colorado needs a strong, proven leader in this critical moment to stand up to Donald Trump, to protect our rights and freedoms,” the Democrat said in an interview. “I’ve always stood up to extremists — and I won’t back down.”
Colorado’s current attorney general, Democrat Phil Weiser, is term-limited. Weiser is running for governor in 2026. If elected, Griswold said she would work to eliminate the state’s rape-kit processing backlog, push for more gun regulations and protect access to abortion and in vitro fertilization.
“I’m one of the only women in statewide executive office right now,” she said. “Being a woman and a mom — it matters. If we have more women in elected office, frankly, our rights wouldn’t be constantly under attack.”
In terms of her legal background, Griswold is a 2011 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School. From 2011 to 2013, she worked at the law firm Paul Hastings in Washington, D.C., where she practiced international anticorruption law. After that, her legal work was centered on working to protect voting access on campaigns.
As secretary of state, Griswold, who oversees Colorado’s elections, has been a national voice in the opposition to Trump’s unfounded claims about election interference. She backed an effort to block Trump from appearing on Colorado’s 2024 presidential primary ballot. Griswold also served as chair of the Democratic Association of Secretaries of State.

Woke Jewish DC girl, married to a moslem, helped steal the election and wrongfully imprison Tina Peters.
A woke bufoon with the mindset of a cruel, bullying hall monitor. Would take away your rights and use the police without thinking twice about it. this is the new dim party
PING!
She needs to be in prison for election fraud instead of Tina Peters.
The dumbass published almost ALL the BIOS codes for voting tabulators after they sent Tina Peters to jail for less.
Sounds like a PHB-ette that made my life miserable no matter what I did about 20 years ago.
She needs to be investigated and prosecuted for her participation in a conspiracy to deny the civil rights of private citizen and candidate DJT in the 2024 primary election in CO. She can beat her chest and brag about her legal credentials, but that does not take away from the 9-0 bitch slapping she took at the hands of SCOTUS. She did not understand the Constitution of the United States.

I think you may be the stupid one.
DOJ should charge her with conspiracy to deprive an individual of their rights, try her, and put her away for a good long time. She had a responsibility to ensure that records were retained and she not only failed to do that but she also prosecuted/persecuted the person who actually did it.
The convictions against Tina Peters were acquired because the judge refused to let Peters bring up the fraud she found, which was her lawful motive for doing what she did. The laws she was accused of breaking required criminal intent and the judge ASSUMED criminal intent only after disallowing her from testifying about her real intent.
This is what tyrannies do. Jena Griswold, this judge, and all who were engaged in this illegal prosecution of Tina Peters need to be addressed by our DOJ. My understanding is that they have filed something in support of Tina Peters but they need to take it up a notch, or five.
I’m a Colorado and I think that voter fraud really takes away Colorado’s choices and until it’s fixed this will be the way it is.
