Opponents of President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk plan to rally across the U.S. on Saturday to protest the administration's actions on government downsizing, the economy, human rights and other issues.
More than 1,200 “Hands Off!” demonstrations have been planned by more than 150 groups, including civil rights organizations, labor unions, LBGTQ+ advocates, veterans and elections activists. The protests are planned for the National Mall in Washington, D.C., state capitols and other locations in all 50 states.
Protesters are assailing the Trump administration's moves to fire thousands of federal workers, close Social Security Administration field offices, effectively shutter entire agencies, deport immigrants, scale back protections for transgender people and cut federal funding for health programs.
Musk, a Trump adviser who owns Tesla, SpaceX and the social media platform X, has played a key role in government downsizing as the head of the newly created Department of Government Efficiency. He says he is saving taxpayers billions of dollars.
Asked about the protests, the White House said in a statement that “President Trump’s position is clear: he will always protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid for eligible beneficiaries. Meanwhile, the Democrats’ stance is giving Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare benefits to illegal aliens, which will bankrupt these programs and crush American seniors.”
Activists have staged nationwide demonstrations against Trump or Musk multiple times since the new administration took power. But the opposition movement has yet to produce a mass mobilization like the Women's March in 2017, which brought thousands of women to Washington, D.C., after Trump's first inauguration, or the Black Lives Matter demonstrations that erupted in multiple cities after George Floyd's killing in 2020.
Organizers say they hope Saturday's demonstrations will be the largest since Trump returned to office in January.

And it will all end by noon since soros is only paying them for three hrs
Violent riots when the weather warms up.
Useful idiot days.
Quite so.
Demonstrations are a display of a group’s futility and lack of power so in this case I think they are good news.
Do they support fraud, waste and abuse? Do they care about their social security?
If conservatives were having protests, I bet you the media would never mention it. They are the bulletin board for leftists.
Translation: “Give us back our money!”
And three hours worth of protest is still too many.
Yes to the former and no to the later.
Half are Soros paid rioters, the other half are clueless, useful idiots.
They’re protesting in favor of continued corruption in our government.
I went out in the country today didn’t have a chance to see the Democrat Left downtown in the square like I normally would.
“...billionaire Elon Musk plan”
Have you ever seen an article that doesn’t have “billionaire” in front of Musk’s name? Of course every outlet even close to the MSM has this like it’s derogatory, or something evil. The MSM also could say something like, “...Elon Musk and billionaire Trump...” but they don’t ever, why is this? The last couple of years when I see the word or in the title, “bombshell” I stop reading there no matter the topic.
Now I see “billionaire” and stop there too, LOL.
The BlueSky Brothers, Barack and George, are getting the band back together.
They canceled the White House garden tours today because of this.
And thus, the protesters are part of the problem.
And hopefully they both wind up in prison where they belong.
