~ The FReeper Canteen Presents ~ ~ Remembering Our Troops!! ~
America Helping The Most Vulnerable!! This two-day MEDCAP typically serves between 750-900 patients, while enhancing joint readiness between civilian and military medical providers. JA25 is the premier U.S. Africa Command (USAFRICOM) exercise in East Africa, designed to enhance multinational combat readiness, strengthen crisis response capabilities and empower allies and partners in the region. Led by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF) and hosted by Kenya, Djibouti, and Tanzania, JA 25 integrates high-intensity training scenarios that sharpen warfighting skills, increase operational reach and enhance the ability to execute complex joint and multinational operations. Canteen Mission Statement
Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allies' military and family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before.

Snow!Snow!Snow! Winter and spring in Wisconsin can provide all kinds of bad weather, including freezing rain, snow, or sleet at any time or even all in one day. When that happens, the Fort McCoy snow-removal team plows through whatever Mother Nature dishes out. The team includes contractor Kaiyuh Services LLC and Directorate of Public Works personnel. The team helps keep more than 400 miles of roads, sidewalks, and parking areas clear so the Fort McCoy workforce can operate safely. (U.S. Army Photo by Scott T. Sturkol, Public Affairs Office, Fort McCoy, WI)
Rodney Atkins Hanging With The Troops!! U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Zachary Floto, 386th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron military working dog section noncommissioned officer in-charge, gives an overview of the MWD facility to country music artist Rodney Atkins during his visit within the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, Jan. 28, 2025. Atkins received a MWD demo, and toured other groups and squadrons during his visit before performing at a concert for service members and coalition partners. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Zachary Kee)

Please remember that The Canteen is here to support and entertain our troops and veterans and their families, and is family friendly.

Howdy, luvie.
Did it cool off enough to need a jacket when you went to class this evening?
It got up to 85 here and has only cooled off to 77 at this point.

Hey there, radu!
Nah, it wasn’t that cool, but I did wear a light pull-over with my jeans. It feels pretty wonderful out there right now. Should continue to cool down for the rest of the week and into next week.
Glad the rain missed you while you were driving. Hope the tornadoes do, too!

Tigers on the Loose | The 10th Armored in WWII (Part 1) - The History Underground
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ET7AOaYTWl8
In the 1960s, a documentary series called “The Big Picture” ran a two part episode on the 10th Armored Division in WWII entitled, “Tigers on the Loose”. The shows feature rare and insightful interviews with some of the key figures involved. We feel like these episodes are of great historical value and want to make them more widely available to the public.

Yes, let’s remember our troops and a special prayer for those four US soldiers who recently died in Lithuania during a training operation. These were good guys.

Sounds like nice weather over there.
If the wind wasn’t roaring, it would almost be uncomfortable here. The little weather widget on the monitor says it’s 77 but my thermometer reads 81.
With the front closer than it was this afternoon, the wind’s blowing harder. With the front stalling, I guess we’ll have this wind the next few days. *sigh* More tree trash to pick up next week.

Just saw your X post notification. All that wind is yuk! I hope it calms down really soon. Ours was just for yesterday afternoon. I’m glad it cooled things down. It was getting close to being too warm for now.

The wind is really wild out there now. The window in this room is a teeny bit loose in its frame and it’s rattling and banging a lot.
I don’t see this stopping as long as the front is around. Gonna be a long three more days.
THEN we get to cool off like you did when Sunday gets here.

Yeesh. It’s going to be a very loooong 3 days for you having to listen to that noise for that long. Just the sound of the wind itself can drive me up a wall.

It sure will! I hope the trees hold up. The wind can weaken their limbs, throwing them back and forth for a long time.

I don’t want to pay for the clean-up if anything big comes down! And the one I worry about most is huge, OLD, and has a couple of huge limbs hanging over the well house. One came down a few years ago and JUST missed the building. It did clip the corner of the roof but that was all. There’s one limb that could squash it. The other could bang it up pretty good.

That sounds a lot like our front yard tree. The trunk is huge, and if it topples, it’s gonna make a right mess. Our place AND the neighbor’s. You know, city homes being so darn close together and all.
