MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell has announced he is considering a run for Minnesota governor, saying “nobody wants Tim Walz.”

Lindell teased the bid during a Monday evening broadcast on his streaming show, LindellTV. The Mankato native is the founder of Chaska-based MyPillow and a prominent supporter of President Donald Trump and his 2020 election conspiracy theories.

“I’m going to tell you right now, I’m considering running for governor in the state of Minnesota, because right now we have a voice that could be big …,” Lindell said during the broadcast Monday. “I live here in Minnesota. Everywhere I go, nobody wants Tim Walz. They don’t … You would not want Walz, you would want anything but him. You know, that’s what I’m hearing all over the state of Minnesota.”

In late February, Walz’s office said that he’s mulling a third term as governor. Walz was first elected in 2018 and reelected in 2022. Las year, he was the Democratic vice presidential nominee. The last Minnesota governor who served three terms was DFLer Rudy Perpich, who left office in 1991. Perpich’s terms were not consecutive. There have not been any official bids announced for the 2026 race. Minnesota Sen. Zach Duckworth, R-Lakeville, teased a bid for governor on X on Feb. 15.

Mike, don’t do it. Instead, work with Trump’s team to identify a great candidate and support that candidate.

No, just no.

Find someone who would make a good MN governor, and support him/her, give the candidate financing, get Trump’s endorsement. Don’t run yourself, you will waste your money and ensure another four years of Democrat nonsense.

I didn’t see him once during the run up for the 2024 election. Anyone know why? He was very active in 2020.

Stay clean and make more money and live happily ever after, Mike. Treat your family and employees well, which we're sure you already are.

Don't become The Anti-Walz; that would be engaging the crazy * on his own terms.

Support someone else who, uh... just support some other Republican. Trust me on this...

Please, no, Mike. Do what you do best. Stay in the background. Contribute some money. But, please, when it comes to being in the political limelight, stay out of it.

He can run for governor only after he completes a sentence.

Until that time, I vote no.

He can run for governor only after he completes a sentence.

He would have to be convicted first; not that MAGAers haven't been unfairly convicted before...

Probably dealing with the issues of his company. It is possible that Trump asked him to step back.

I don’t think that he’s talking about that kind of sentence.

I wish for his own sake that Lindell would get back to running a successful company and not tarnish his business brand further. Doesn’t matter that his heart is in the right place — he’s been incredibly ineffective politically and has unquestionably hurt his commercial prospects.
