A Cornell University student who participated in pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel protests and was asked to surrender by US immigration officials says he was leaving the United States, citing fear of detention and threats to his personal safety.
Momodou Taal, a doctoral candidate in Africana Studies and dual citizen of the UK and The Gambia, has participated in pro-Palestinian protests against Israel’s war in Gaza following an October 2023 Hamas attack. His attorneys said last month that he was asked to turn himself in and that his student visa was being revoked.
Sep 16, 2024 — Taal believes Islam can improve the conditions of Black people, which echoes comments Malcolm X made during his trip to Cairo...
Momodou Taal is a British graduate student who called for Israel's destruction, expressed support for Hamas terrorism, glorified a domestic terrorist and spread hatred of Israel and America..Canary
Taal was suspended by Cornell University (Cornell) twice in 2024, the first time for leading anti-Israel encampment protests and the second time for disrupting a campus event..
Taal is a supporter of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement. Taal's anti-Israel activism and social media posts occurred during Israel’s war against Hamas, called “Swords of Iron.” Israel launched the war after a series of Hamas terror attacks and war crimes against Israeli civilians, including mass murder, torture, rape, beheadings and kidnappings, which were executed on October 7, 2023. The terror attacks left approximately 1,200 Israelis dead, hundreds kidnapped and thousands wounded..
In late October 2023, Taal wrote on Instagram that he was active in a rally organized by the Cornell chapter of the pro-terror student group Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP). During the protest, Taal appeared [00:01:34] multiple times [00:02:06] on stage....
In October 2024, RT reported [00:00:18] that Taal was the leader of the anti-Israel student group The Coalition for Mutual Liberation (CML), which has organized multiple anti-Israel rallies and "die-ins for Palestine" on campus.
Also in October 2024, Inside Higher Ed reported that Taal was "banned from [Cornell's] campus and from teaching his course—What Is Blackness? Race and Processes of Racialization." However, in fall 2024, Cornell released a brochure with a list of courses that included Taal's class. In February 2025, Democracy Now reported that Taal was a PhD student at Cornell. As of February 2025, Taal's X bio read: "PhDing: Political Economy, Race & Capitalism, Pan Africanism..."
so he thinks that the very people who sold most of his forefathers into slavery, and some of whom still have slaves today, will improve conditions for his folk?
how does anyone that stupid ever get into a college in the first place?
Who can blame him, he studied in...Egypt .
“threats to personal safety”, BS. Typical crybully remark.
Aggressor posting as victim..
Big demand for "perfessers" of African Studies I take it.
AMF!
Cornell University, played basketball with a guy who played varsity basketball there, name of Kenny. I wonder if Mr. Taal plays basketball. I think he should with some Jewish and Christian teammates.
i see thanks
well if that’s what the egyptian school system planted into his cranium, Egypt has a very serious problem indeed (second only perhaps to Egypt’s impending disasterous military defeat from its abrogation of the sinai accords and invading with its armed forces right up to the israeli border... reminds me of those YouTube videos where guys try to sneak up to yank crocodiles’ tails, ha ha)
I’m not following each deportation of these so-called “Graduate Students” closely, but my reckoning, this is the THIRD one who has connections to the UK.
I believe the one from Columbia even worked for a Gulf States “think tank” that was directly funded by MI6
Has anyone seen any more detailed exploration of this?
Don’t let the door hit you in the keister, Slick.

Special Memo To Momodou Taal:
Dear Mo-
As you depart the United States, please keep in mind that you were a temporary guest here.
A temporary guest without some of the same rights as our citizens.
You chose a side in the Middle East conflict - one that you did not need to choose. You could have and should have concentrated on your studies. It was after all the very reason you were here.
Best of Wishes are you pursue your academic studies somewhere outside of this nation.
The more contemporary term for negritude, I would expect.
Model British citizen.
Homeland Security better make sure he has a 1 Way Ticket.
Not a RoundTrip Ticket.
Buh - Bye! Good luck making a living in Gambia.
LOL! Apparently he never studied history - it was Arab muslims who sold African blacks into slavery, Taal. Look it up! And Arab muslims who still treat black Africans as second class people today.
