A man allegedly trying to break into a car at about 1:00 a.m. on March 25 was shot and wounded by a concealed carrier.
The concealed carrier shot the 21-year-old alleged burglar “once in each leg,” WBBM noted.
CWBChicago reported the alleged burglar called 911 after the incident and tried feign that he had been shot in a drive-by. However, his pretend narrative was busted when the concealed carrier called 911 to describe what happened.
The suspect was transported to a hospital for treatment and placed in custody.
Breitbart News pointed out that an armed garbage truck driver killed one alleged armed robber and left a second in critical condition in Chicago at about 5:18 a.m. on January 31, 2025.

Just also carry a cap gun that can be tossed.
“...was shot and wounded by a concealed carrier.”
“armed garbage truck driver...”
A concealed-carrier with a unique opportunity to ensure no one ever finds out about the shooting.
Your car / truck is your horse.
“In keeping with the spirit of the article shouldn’t that read, “was allegedly shot and wounded by a concealed carrier”?”
N9t alleged. I think the shooter stated that he shot the guy.
“Your car / truck is your horse.”
That defense lands you in the slammer.
The car burglar is alleged but the shooter isn’t supposed or alleged…. It’s always like that….
I would say “allegedly shot a car burglar”.
In Texas the statute includes to prevent theft by night
“In Texas the statute includes to prevent theft by night”
But a jury may find that the circumstances did not warrant the death of a person.
Depends on the circumstances.
man pulled out his wireless holepunchers giving the robber a dose of leadicillin instantly turning him into a holy man

The CCL shot twice. The key point in the liberal prosecutor's mind will probably be, was the CCL holder's life in imminent danger when he pulled his weapon for the first time. Clearly, the CCL holder was a reasonably skilled, trained and accurate shot to shoot twice; once in each leg. Then the liberal prosecutor is likely to wonder if the CCL holder's life was still in immediate danger just before he fired the second shot or was the crook no longer a physical threat.
Also. in some places preventing property theft outside of one's “castle” does not justify the use of deadly force. In some places it might be justified, but not likely in liberal areas.
Most likely (and one reason you should only answer questions from the police with a lawyer present) the CCL holder had an unholstered weapon as he approached the car jacker. If so, his life was not likely in danger when he “escalated the potential confrontation to a deadly force situation by having his firearm out and ready for use. Again, if so, he may have forfeited his right to a self defense argument as he was the first to potentially use deadly force.
While none of this seems fair or just, most use of deadly force laws are not about justice, they are about legal technicalities. The concealed carry advice I have gotten in training is that one only pulls one's weapon, when you feel your life or the life of another are in danger and once you do, you should expect you will end up in jail at least temporarily. If that happens, then you will at least know you would have done the same thing again to protect your life or the life of someone you care about.
Saving any material possessions with the firing of a handgun hardly seems worth the risk of financial bankruptcy, either at the hands of a liberal prosecutor or at the hands of the car jacker (or their family) via a civil suit by an attorney that gets a percentage of any jury award for damages and suffering.
Again, not fair nor just, but the way things are in our current legal system.
So the carrier was hidden?
If you're ever involved in an altercation, be the first person to call 9-11. Criminals know that the first person to call the cops gets to set the narrative and will most likely be believed by law enforcement.
“The car burglar is alleged but the shooter isn’t supposed or alleged…. It’s always like that….”
