WASHINGTON — Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, is renewing efforts to fully eliminate the Transportation Security Administration, accusing the federal agency of inefficiency and invading travelers’ privacy.
Lee, along with Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., introduced the Abolish the TSA Act on Thursday, which would dissolve the TSA and establish a separate Office of Aviation Security Oversight to manage airport security. The office would operate completely under the Federal Aviation Administration and transfer security activities and equipment to private companies instead.

However,
Mike,
Why didn't you create a bill to abolish the Department of Education? What the heck.
Make flying great again!
Overdue.
Just go to the airport. One person looking on the X-ray machine. Whole lotta others standing there doing not much other than treating people like cattle. Then they put their hands on your junk.
Didn't someone already take care of that?
I would love to know the name of the House/Senate bill, when it was introduced by whom, etc. (to abolish the Department of Education) Please let me know.
“Don’t get me wrong, abolishing the TSA would be a huge and series accomplishment.”
Sounds like a renaming to me. We want certain security things to be done, and done without waste and unnecessary invasions of privacy. Who cares what the agency is called?
No. President Trump just signed an E.O., but apparently it will need an act of Congress to really abolish it.
Cost of airport security [aid for by - **the airport**.
The Circle of Life is complete.
Is privatizing to another business-government partnership really a good idea here?
Plus they’re thieves.
Not my original satire, but apropos...TSA...thousands standing around....
Reason # 135 why we should have bombed the stew out of Afghanistan and Pakistan instead of "fighting" in Pakistan with both hands tied behind our backs to "win over hearts and minds" and such.
If we had killed however many of them it took that the survivors begged us to let them surrender (how we used to win wars), we might have "won over" their thinking to quit attacking our civilians. That would be a lot better than the decades of government overreach at airports against freedom loving and law abiding American citizens.
I always like it when the guy in front of me is 6’4’’ with blonde hair who gets singled out for ‘special screening’. Boys, I’m pretty sure his name isn’t Mohammed.
THANK YOU MIKE ! ! ! !
I think they want to privatize TSA.
As I recall, San Francisco, SFO, does not have TSA for security. They use a private company.
The job sucks, hard to get good employees that stay
At least scale it back.
It’s insane you still have to remove your shoes. And taking away your water bottles you bought at Hudson before security so you have to get another luke warm expensive bottle.
Thomas Massie did.

Yes !!!
I am years over 75 and have to fly.I still get “chosen” for special screening...still ,much of the time, I
have to take off my shoes, uncrate computer from bag, take off belt..and ALWAYS get shouted at and treated like a resident of a maximum security prison.I yearn for q small return to the great days of flying. And now no longer can I carry a single kleenex in a pocket..bah humbug !!
