Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Wednesday doubled down on his assertion that he did not share classified plans to strike Houthi targets in a Signal group chat of Trump administration officials that was inadvertently shared with a journalist, who he claimed “has never seen a war plan.”
In a combative post to the social platform X, Hegseth lambasted The Atlantic’s editor in chief, Jeffrey Goldberg, for publishing the Signal group chat messages, in which the Pentagon chief relayed details about airstrikes in Yemen earlier this month that an initial article on the matter did not contain, including the specific timeline of the airstrikes and what weapons would be used.

Put Goldberg under FBI deposition. Make it clear who is in the wrong.
Combative? Lol
Knowing airstrikes are likely in 24 hours or less would mean the Houthis would be ready and waiting.
Goldberg is Mossad/CIA. Started off as a guard in an Israeli prison notorious for torturing inmates.
Information of value to a hostile force needs to be kept secret by proper means if doing so would reduce the risk to our armed forces. Enemies don’t need exact war plans.
The Houthis know where they are and from which directions American airplanes and missiles might come. Allowing hostiles to know when Americans are likely to come greatly increases the risk to our pilots.
Goldberg also said yesterday that Ratcliffe said the name of an undercover CIA officer in the chat, turns out that was his CHIEF OF STAFF LOL seriously Goldberg is an f’n idiot, and whoever added him to the chat is an even bigger idiot
It is dumb to get in a petty fight over this. They made a seriously stupid mistake by inviting a journalist to the chat. End of story. Signal is secure, encrypted, and would not have been a problem except for human error.
I liked him in Jurassic Park, but his role in Law & Order Criminal Intent was weak and unconvincing.
If there's no location, there's no plan.
This is the stupidest insanity I’ve seen. Look guys, the fact they were discussing exact times places etc of attacks and someone who shouldn’t have been in there saw them is absolutely a security breach and lapse.
This is the height of stupidity to claim this wasn’t.
Whether it was a full war plan or whether the info was officially considered classified or not is irrelevant.
Is it the end of the world? No, but to try to spin this as it wasn’t a bad thing is stupid
Goldberg is a sleazy publicity hound who indulges himself in hurting Trump and his supporters.
He has not only not seen a war plan, I think he couldn’t locate his rear end if he had a map, a GPS, a mirror and three friends cheering him on with encouragement.
They were NOT discussing exact places. That's a liberal lie that's been repeated without evidence and was disproven by Hegseth.
No locations? Strange.
This is exact timeline discussion
Time is at the start of each line. Please stop repeating nonsense
This is exact time of each part of operation While exact target is not identified by name please stop the nonsense if trying to spin this as not a breach

“We are currently clean on OPSEC” — that is, operational security.
“Godspeed to our Warriors.”
You're talking about Jeff GoldBLUM, not Goldberg.
Agreed. This event looks like old-fashioned Democrat Party dirty tricks.
$10 says The Atlantic was in on it from the start.
It's the official position on the matter, and I won't disagree with those who are actually involved.
Who cares. The REAL STORY is how did Goldberg's number get on national security devices. After all the moles and worms of Trump 45 administration, TRUST NO ONE.
It's so improbable that Goldberg's phone number would show up on Waltz's cell phone. It wasn't random. I would fire Waltz. Waltz can not be trusted. I won't waste time listing all the moles and traitors on Trump 45's team. To me, having Goldberg's number alone shows a mortal fatal lack of judgment at best. At worst, it is a sign of betrayal.
Fire Waltz. The facts speak for themselves.
