Nvidia, the world’s undisputed leader in chipmaking, says it will invest hundreds of billions of dollars over the next four years on its U.S.-based manufacturing operations — part of the manufacturing renaissance under President Donald J. Trump as he solidifies the U.S. as the global leader in artificial intelligence.
“Having the support of an administration who cares about the success of this industry and not allowing energy to be an obstacle is a phenomenal result for AI in the U.S.,” said Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.
Here’s what they’re saying:
That’s in addition to the trillions of dollars in new investments President Trump has already secured in tech-based manufacturing. In January, President Trump announced a $500 billion private investment in AI infrastructure led by OpenAI, Oracle, and Softbank, while Apple announced a $500 billion investment and TSMC announced a $100 billion investment in chips manufacturing last month.
It goes well beyond tech as companies make plans to onshore their operations amid President Trump’s America First trade policy. This week, a Canadian furniture manufacturer opted to move its production to the U.S., while the biggest toymaker in the U.S. said it will move a “large percentage” of its China-based manufacturing back home.
In the auto sector, Stellantis announced a $5 billion investment in its U.S. manufacturing network as it pledges to build more vehicles domestically, Hyundai Motor is planning to “localize production in the U.S,” Nissan is considering moving production from Mexico to the U.S., and Honda is expected to produce its next-generation Civic hybrid model in Indiana.
The list of manufacturing wins is endless.
when it comes to artificial intelligence, they say that the problem lies in the chips, getting enough chips. When it comes to fusion, they say that the problem is the chips you just don’t have enough chips.
Kamala would think you are talking about Nacho Cheese Doritos and would order Frito-Lay to ramp up production.
Back in the day the US was a manufacturing powerhouse that enabled the winning of WWII. Not only by building goodies for the US Military, but also the Soviets and English.
Along comes the trade agreements of the 90’s and major manufacturing is all given to our biggest enemy which left many in big cities unemployed creating ghettos where there was once employment prosperity. The kids had nothing better to do other than form gangs to sell drugs to the elites, the same ones that got rich off of moving manufacturing. And the democrats said they would save them, which is now turning out to be a big lie.
Yes, we need major manufacturing again. Bring back the good old days. Have the kids learn a trade besides selling dope.
Ross Perot was right.
Thank the Uniparty for thirty-plus years of everything made in China.
We don’t hate Congress enough.
Question. Can we manufacture stuff with workers that can’t read? This is not the 50’s.
If the jobs are there we’ll still need people with half a brain. Even the looms in Lowell, Ma. were manned by immigrants. It was steady work, the kind that Americans wouldn’t do-sound familiar? My Ukraine SIL takes 50-60 blood samples a day. Worked as an engineer in the old country. Maybe we just need the tax base. Mexicans are good with it too.
It seems about every week or so, another company announces they are building or expanding their business/factory inside the USA.
Besides avoiding the tariffs, any company needs inexpensive, abundant energy. With the return of Drill Baby Drill, energy prices will decrease.
Also, the smart companies will avoid Kalifornia, New York, ET AL. Business friendly States will thrive.
hey, AOC, Bernie, Crockett and Hogg, do ya'll understand what the above statement really means? ... it means cheap and reliable energy is critical for the future!
Encouraging — but I’ll take a page from the playbook of all the rabid Bondi and Patel haters here:
White House, do let us know when construction begins, or workers are hired, or doors open for all these new factories and plants for which there are endless press releases and tweets
Haven’t seen anything start yet
