An IDF brigadier general from the Southern Command lost classified and highly sensitive documents in a parking lot of an office tower in Ramat Gan, while on his way to a civilian meeting
A civilian who passed by picked up the documents and handed them over to a security guard in the building, who reported the incident to the police and IDF.
The IDF confirmed that the sensitive documents should not have been taken out the military base and the brigadier general is currently being investigated by the Information Security Department. Military sources stressed that he has not been suspended from his position at this stage.
Military sources clarified that "after concluding the investigation, ..."

Fake documents.
Returned after being scanned.
Maybe?
That sucks but it sounds like they got them back quickly.
I’m much more concerned with American military “losing” documents.
Brigadier General (Res.) Erez Wiener is the officer who lost classified documents
Eh, I’ve seen plenty of self-important U.S. Baby Generals ignoring security regs.
Once upon a time I worked in a very secure facility, that was a secure facility within a secure facility. We could walk out of the building without being subject to search.
I can see how this happens.
With regards to these happenings in the US govt, the problem starts with the security clearance. The higher the clearance the deeper the background investigation goes. The higher the clearance the more trustworthy a person is considered.
With the leftists in charge full blown commies were given clearances. Criteria for TS clearances need to be brought back to pre-Carter standards and those not meeting such standards losing their clearances and/or fired.
Perhaps it is on purpose to provide bogus information.
“Fake documents.”
Looking for leaks and who gives them to an adversary. Going on a mole hunt.
It’s probably different for generals, but if I wanted to take a classified document from one secure area to another by passing through an unsecured area, I’d check it out. It would go into a sealed envelope. When I got to the next area the FIRST thing, I’d do is check that document in at the next area. Of course, those stupid rules are only for the little people.
I would not stop and have lunch somewhere. Or leave it unattended. But then, I was one of the “little” people.
Back in 2009, I hired on as an Editor at the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Discovered shortly after I started working, there was no chain of custody procedures.
...as hamas operatives watched from their vehicle, wondering how the idiot could possibly hold his rank.
Serious comments aside, one operative slaps the other over the back of the head: "I TOLD you we should have picked the other guy!"
This sort of incident is sometimes used to lend credence to false information that is meant to fall into enemy hands...
Maybe I’m naieve, but I always thought that there were protocols for transferring highly classified documents. A general does not just put him in his car and then leave them there when he stops off for coffee or to run into the market.
Am I the only one who reads “in a parking lot” as ‘on the pavement’?
“A civilian who passed by picked up the documents”, not ‘A civilian who passed by reached into the car and picked up the documents.’
Regular weirner.
Bombshell email shows Hillary aide Huma Abedin left classified material in her CAR and asked colleague to move it to trunk for safekeeping
Maybe, or maybe that was the hand-off, and it went awry because of a passing citizen. Hard to know.
A “friend”?!!
smh
We might not deserve this huge second chance and correct “reset”, but thank God we got it.
With all the abortions alone, I thought God would say to heck with us.
Maybe he sees one side is still trying.
“and be spread eagle on the ground with an M16 pointed at me by someone who knew me …”
A true story: I was an escort official escorting two hot college girls on to a USAF Missile Alert Facility. They never had proper ID, but that was never caught by the AF cops. They were allowed downstairs into the capsule and the crew of two guys just loved them. They showed them the missile launch procedure and the whole nine yards.
Then we went to another MAF and the improper ID’s were caught. The two girls and I were jacked up, escorted off site and held by a guard until the mess was straightened out. The head cop lost his job. The two girls thought it was fun.
