The Trump administration has filed a document seeking to deport Mahmoud Khalil, a green card holder who played a major role in pro-Palestinian protests at Columbia University, saying he is “subject to removal from the United States” in documents obtained by NBC News.
Khalil, 30, was arrested by federal immigration agents in New York City on Saturday and briefly taken to a detention center in New Jersey before he was transferred to the facility in Jena, Louisiana. He is an Algerian citizen of Palestinian descent, married to a U.S. citizen and a legal permanent resident of the United States.

Adam Cox, a law professor and immigration expert at New York University, said the provision in the Immigration and Nationality Act cited by the administration for Khalil's deportation case has been used only in rare circumstances.
An immigration judge will decide if this guy will be deported from US or not...That is the process...There is no guarantee that Trump Administration will win this case...
I wonder if Homeland Security or FBI has some evidence showing that this guy took orders from Hamas leadership...That would be helpful...
ICE agents did not know that he had a green card when they met this guy...I think that the agents could have easily found that out...

Like it or not, as a green card holder he has full Constitutional rights, including due process. That statement should not be construed as support. I think he should deported forthwith.
Can they get him to Gitmo while they sort it out?
He can’t vote.
He can’t vote

He is gone.
Secretary Rubio said they can boot him without any crime being committed.

They keep making this mistake. Just do it. They won’t get permission but they will get forgiveness.
I wonder which NGO is funding his defense lawyers.
Exactly which side is the British government on?
Actually, it may be nothing new. Five Eyes. So we may be asking them to spy on us. Because we can't do it on ourselves because we have the Constitution and all that jazz. Annoying, I know. But our friends across the pond are more than willing to help us out.
I don't know about any of YOU, but me an' MY kind'a folks have no problem with understanding the English language.

Better put him on the next plane or a federal judge will order the green card and visa restored as well as releasing him from custody.
