CNN Poll Shows Surge in Presidential Approval on Economy Under Trump
Breitbart ^ | 03/12/2025 | John Carney

Americans are far happier with the economic leadership of President Trump than they were under Joe Biden just a few months ago, according to a CNN poll released Wednesday.

While American households are still laboring under the weight Biden-era inflation, the worst in forty years, their opinion of the president’s handling of the economy has surged higher with the changing of the guard at the White House.

Biden left office in January with just 33 percent of Americans saying they approved of his handling of the economy, according to a CNN poll conducted by SSRS in January. A super-majority of 67 percent said they disapproved of Biden’s economic leadership.

President Trump now scores a 44 percent approval rating. That is higher than Biden scored in any of the CNN polls since December 2021. At this point in his presidency, Biden had a 49 percent approval rating on the economy.

CNN says its most recent poll was conducted by SSRS from March 6-9 among a random national sample of 1,206 US adults who were polled online or by telephone with a live interviewer.

We are blessed to have President Trump back. 2020 was a blessing in disguise.

This will turn against him as tariff policy sends the economy into an economic spiral downwards.

And when have more good jobs than we know what to do with after the tariffs take effect and American manufacturing and investment replaces cheap foreign imports that aren’t that cheap anymore?

The economy is going to boom!

Strong economy 101.....jobs. good jobs......jobs jobs jobs. And homegrown energy will drive it.

Trump gets it.

Funny how every other country will be just fine economically with their own tariffs on us. Only the US will suffer by having tariffs. Doesn’t pass the common sense test.

GFY Gamgee for being a Free Traitor. Tariffs protect domestic industry from poaching by mercantilist nations.

The democrats will shut down the government. I think after 45 days of shutdown, Trump can lay off employees?

He can make recess appointments too.

Democrats sided with the Black Panthers as they are with the Palestinians. Embracing the radical side in the 60s didn’t work either.

Nah. If anything, this is a welcoming development. In fact, we needed to go into a recession. Due to bidenomics, our economy is way overheated. Now Trump is going to lower inflation, I'll rather have Trump's economic policy because my dollar will actually mean something.

Glad to read you are against mercantilism, a failed economic policy.

FWIW, Canada is taking the wrong approach by escalating. Trump could destroy Canada and is on his way to doing it. We need a statesman at our helm and we don’t have that.

In all honesty, I would agree that deflation is superior to an inflating economy. In fact short moderate recessionary periods are good and natural for a FREE economy. Part of the problem there is no such thing in the world. Central banking is all part of the same Keynsian attempt to inflate economies out of their debt problems.

All the NHL teams in Canada will have to relocate to America except for maybe Montreal Canadians and Toronto Maple Leafs.

We'll see how Canadians react after that. I know they love their hockey up north.

I checked the actual CNN website. They had the following headline: “Americans are Negative About Trump’s Handling of the Economy.” No mention of a “surge” in comparison to Biden.
