Left-Wing Punished in Surprise Greenland Election Result, Next Govt May Be More Trump-Friendly
Breitbart ^ | 03/12/2025 | Oliver JJ Lane

Dramatic and unexpected election results in Greenland saw long-governing legacy parties kicked out of power and more right-wing, pro-American politicians set to dominate parliament for the first time.

The provisional results for the Greenlandic elections held on Tuesday show a historic result not forecast by pollsters, with the longstanding political establishment parties punished and relegated to third and fourth positions, respectively.

The election comes amid intense discussion of Greenland’s potential independence domestically and global attention over U.S. President Donald Trump’s repeated overtures to the country to become part of the United States. As things stand, Greenland is now a region of its former colonial master Denmark, and as well as being divided between left and right, its politics are also split into pro- and anti-independence camps.

All this winning is making me dizzy.

Not just the winning but Schadenfreude overload.

Where Schadenfreude = Trump is always right

Others have remarked and I have to agree the Democrats made one of their biggest political mistake ever in “winning” the 2020 election with Biden.

The political and judicial persecution of Donald Trump was another mistake.

The Democrats made President Trump 2.0 possible. They also gave him time to reflect on his mistakes during his first term and bringing in advisors to help plan for his second term.

What we are witnessing is not something just happening. This administration is working with a plan.

The key is on just how fast President Trump is moving.

The Democrats decided they would use their same playbook against the President and he has shown he has read their playbook and has counter plays against them.

The objective is land access to the polar region, which calls for working agreements with Canada and Greenland.

Greenland makes much more sense than Canada.

But, there is no bridge to Greenland, while Canada is a bridge to Alaska. So, we need to make Canada the 51st state in order to own that bridge. ;)

True, but Canada would be terrible—as it would add democratic senators and congressmen,,,,,no thanks.

**a close alliance with America. This could be a “free association status” with Washington like that of “by the Pacific island states of Micronesia, the Marshall Islands and Palau”, he said.**

Threading the needle. Colonialism gets a bad rap. All one has to do is read Franz Fanon or the many others. Some indigenous peoples never recover or adapt to the new world. Greenland may have a drug problem. They won’t need or want tourism. We have to thread the needle on our end too.

Think about it. I live in a rural backwater county that like Greenland is large in land but small in population, 150k.

That’s 2.5 times the population of Greenland.

I think Canada is purely a Boarder control and energy independence thing

Annexed Canada would allow for those northern states to get their presently Canadian energy, at American Prices. Keystone Pipeline would 100% be American. We’d control the boarder, and obviously there are no neighboring countries for Cartels to jump the Canadian boarder from.

America as a whole would suffer more with Canadian annexation then we’d benefit, IMO, but i’m also just speculating at what Trump’s plans are. Canada can just be a huge Headfake, which He’s always done plenty of those.

I think if we only take the portion of Canada (central and western) that we want and leave them Quebec and the other left leaning eastern provinces that it might be a good deal. I was surprised to find out Newfoundland and New Brunswick were left leaning given they were less populated than Quebec and Ontario and then realized that they are similar to our own Northeast, so it made sense after all.

The only one out west that wouldn’t be conservative would be British Columbia with Victoria...maybe we just move Victoria to the state of Washington as part of the deal and move eastern washington into BC....ideas..I got a million of’em.
