I served in the first two classes of the National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC), and the two years that I spent with fellow corps members from all backgrounds formed who I am today. My experience living, traveling, working, and sometimes struggling in a diverse group of individuals spurred a lifelong desire to explore the world and to engage with people who don’t share my same worldview. My service in the NCCC — which included multiple projects in national parks — showed me the impact that humans have had on our planet, and the hard work and dedication it takes to restore our natural world.
There is a growing call for renewed national service that is modeled after the Civilian Conservation Corps, and we need to heed that call with a grand vision. A United Nations Special Report in 2018 found that the United States had the highest rate of income inequality, along with the highest rate of youth poverty and incarceration. The creation of a Civilian Climate Corps is our opportunity to create a more equitable country and to fight the impacts of climate change through unprecedented job training and spending on infrastructure and climate change resilience.
A New Model for National Service, with Community College Partnerships at Its Core ACivilian Climate Corps will enroll five million young adults over a five year period, creating a generation equipped with the skills and knowledge to fight the impacts of climate change. The Work Progress Administration (WPA), a key part of FDR’s New Deal, was designed to provide immediate relief to American workers. Beginning in 1935 when the unemployment rate was 20%, the WPA employed primarily unskilled American workers, with 3.3 million employed at its peak in 1938 on its way to 8.5 million before being disbanded in 1943. The Civilian Climate Corps will model the WPA in terms of the scope and scale of projects, but Civilian Climate Corps members will receive an Associate Degree after two years of service, and be poised to lead their communities forward.
A Combination of Education and National Service Leading to an Associate Degree Americans between the ages of 18 and 29 will be eligible to enroll for a two year period. The first six months will consist of training at community college sites around the nation in one of four focus areas:
Equitable Infrastructure Renewable Energy Reforestation Climate Resiliency
Over the duration of the two-year period climate corps members will receive room and board, as well as a $1,500 monthly stipend. At the completion of two years of service, corps members will earn:
An Associate Degree in their area of specialization $15,000 stipend to apply to education or the purchase of a home Job placement assistance Veteran’s Benefits
Commies gotta Commie.
Should be a target for DOGE.
Shut it down
Allow them to enlist in the armed service of their choice as a P.L.O. — Permanent Latrine Orderly

Don’t know what that has to do with climate change.
“enlist in the armed service of their choice”
and “experience living, traveling, working, and sometimes struggling in a diverse group of individuals”
“...that is modeled after the Civilian Conservation Corps,”

What a loser.
Go back tot eh Original CCC program.

Modeled after the CCC, a creation by the Roosevelt Administration, for..."Climate Change" and "Inequality".
I was surprised he didn't say "World Peace" but he would have to step away from the slaughter in Ukraine for that.
Pronto.
The sooner the better.
This clown wants to hijack a historic program in the Civilian Conservation Corps and turn it into a watermelon. Sure, CCC was Socialist program under a Socialist FDR but it did some very good things that could work today: Planting trees, repairing parks and fire prevention. His idea is a collection of Commies to push the climate cult while actually doing nothing but collecting money and cult members.
Flatten the curve? Not the best choice of slogans.
And tell them to “ bring your own toothbrush!”

Followed by getting people like author Glen Fee into real, productive, honest work where he contributes to society.
He looks like a reasonable fellow. But he's probably out firebombing Tesla dealerships as we write.
[As] president I will expand AmeriCorps to 250,000 slots [from 75,000] and make that increased service a vehicle to meet national goals, like providing health care and education, saving our planet and restoring our standing in the world, so that citizens see their effort connected to a common purpose.Omnes viae Obama ducunt.People of all ages, stations and skills will be asked to serve. Because when it comes to the challenges we face, the American people are not the problem – they are the answer. So we are going to send more college graduates to teach and mentor our young people. We’ll call on Americans to join an energy corps, to conduct renewable energy and environmental clean-up projects in their neighborhoods all across the country.
We will enlist our veterans to find jobs and support for other vets, and to be there for our military families. And we’re going to grow our Foreign Service, open consulates that have been shuttered and double the size of the Peace Corps by 2011 to renew our diplomacy. We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set.
We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded. We need to use technology to connect people to service. We’ll expand USA Freedom Corps to create online networks where American can browse opportunities to volunteer. You’ll be able to search by category, time commitment and skill sets. You’ll be able to rate service opportunities, build service networks, and create your own service pages to track your hours and activities.
This will empower more Americans to craft their own service agenda and make their own change from the bottom up.
