Weapons manufacturers across Europe are rushing to secure contracts after EU countries announced plans to dramatically increase defence spending. Share prices of European arms companies had already risen sharply following the US decision to suspend military aid to Ukraine. ... Von der Leyen suggests the EU could raise "close to" €650 billion over four years, which would be added to a €150 billion loan to member states for defence investment, totalling €800 billion.

European arms manufacturers view this as a golden opportunity to compete against their US rivals.

Commentary also on specific companies, Thales, Rheinmetall, Eutelsat (Starlink rival) "CEO Eva Berneke told Bloomberg that after "discussions about the Starlink potential pull-out of Ukraine," Eutelsat shares more than tripled in value over two days, adding over €1 billion to its market capitalisation."

Etc. Lots of stuff moving.

The proliferation of weapons across Europe will be good for its citizens. Get them used to overthrowing their governments and taking out muzzies.

“They can THANK TRUMP!”

This is true. In a sort of similar sense to which US firearms makers can thank Obama.

Good, they could have done this many years ago. It took Trump to take ourselves and the EU to the woodshed. This will take a lot of time because talk is cheap and actions culminating in product take a lot of time.

The meatgrinder in Ukraine has saved the arms manufacturers, who will make more weapons, which will have to be used, etc. In the movie ‘Lion King’, it was ‘A Circle of Life’. In the arms industry, it is the circle of death.

Love that chant. Sort of the Let’s Go Brandon of the right. You see the Trump crowds don’t want USAID to go away? They keep chanting for it to continue.

Europe has more men than usable arms at the moment, especially missile reloads. That’s the most pressing matter right now.

Poland has 16 militia brigades also that are so far poorly armed. One case among many across Europe, where militia/territorial formations exist.

I’m sure there’s more men than arms, but military personnel are lacking in Europe as a whole. They’ve admitted as much.

True, but the weapons situation needs to be addressed in any case.

With the current values the UK/EU seem to have now, the “coalition of the willing rulers” will drag men off the streets to form the “coalition of the unwilling” to do the dying for their great ETO.

Similar to that set up in Ukraine. 😒

This is Trump turning the Europeans into double winners.

Their economies get stronger, while their defense forces also get stronger.

Putin is going to hate Trump even more now for making the European economies stronger and making their military frightful in case Russia had any temptations or ambitions in that direction.

Producing more arms with no soldiers to use them.

In cases of war, all able-bodied men automatically become soldiers in any country.
