Are the Europeans asking for another European war?
American Thinker ^ | 03/03/2025 | Andrea Widburg

European politics are driven by a fusion of leftism, arrogance, and a desperate desire to avoid a repeat of WWI and WWII, the two most destructive wars in European (and probably world) history. However, national character may be destiny, because, if British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has a say, they’re lining up for a repeat.

Most people know that WWI started because of a cascade of events, each of which, if stopped, could have prevented that blood debacle.

On June 28, 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand Carl Ludwig Joseph Maria of Austria, the heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, was visiting Sarajevo, Serbia, a city then located in the Austro-Hungarian empire, when Gavrilo Princip, a member of a movement that wanted Bosnia to gain independence from the empire, assassinated him.

The Austro-Hungarian foreign minister used the event as an opening to declare war on Serbia, an act he knew would have German support. From that point forward, a combination of bad timing, stupidity, and various machinations by bad actors on all sides led directly to a conflagration.

[SNIP]

Why does all this matter? Because of what Keir Starmer said when Zelensky (egged on by Democrats from the Deep State and Congress) walked away from a Trump-brokered agreement that was a start to ending the war:

The Prime Minister said Britain and France were developing a “coalition of the willing”, and that talks would “intensify” to create security guarantees that include British troops on the ground in Ukraine and fighter jets.

[snip]

Sir Keir said Britain was “doubling down” on support for Ukraine and pushed for a greater contribution from European allies to continent-wide security, but needed “US backing”.

He also announced a new £1.6-billion-pound deal that would allow Ukraine to purchase 5,000 air-defence missiles using export finance.

What supreme irony that the war to cause our extinction might largely be caused by perhaps the frailest human male to ever live (not counting injured, ill or birth defects)!

Keir Starmer:

“Sir Keir, how about a game of thermonuclear war?”

These idiots have no idea what they’re blundering into. God help us all!

They probably could use all the extra money war would bring to help them pay for all of their freeloading illegal aliens.

perhaps Starmer supports the pedophiles in Ukraine
as he long has in England.

They need to distract their people from the consequences of their disastrous woke domestic policies.

NATO/Ukraine are trying to lure America into a direct conflict with RUssia. They will say whatever they need to say their intentions are, but for the most part they will be lying.

Europe is promising security guarantees to Zelensky but it doesn’t matter - Zelensky won’t accept unless Trump says the United States will provide a ‘backstop’. They have wanted, and still want American boots on the ground in Ukraine so they can false flag a conflict with Russia. All their aspirations are set on getting the US troops in. So Zelensky is pelted with security guarantees by Europe and keeps saying that security guarantees will not work without America’s ‘backstop’.

In 1914 we had a Europe full of people eager to march off to the killing because they didn’t know what it would end up involving. No excuses now, everybody knows. And being eager to see somebody else march off to the killing isn’t really much of an improvement.

It looks like the plan is to get a small number of tripwire euro troops killed in Ukraine, to force the USA into a massive war with Russia. Which sounds like world war 3 to me.

Or to otherwise force a Russian response after a blatant provocation or false flag.

I don’t see any other explanation for this crazy scheme

We will see what is the appetite for war for the UK, France and the EU after Trump puts in tariffs on the equivalent of 350 billion dollars a year. How much money will they have left for Zelenski?

Trump has said the trade imbalance is about 350 billion a year and that tariffs are coming in a month to correct that imbalance. The EU is going to get squeezed and hopefully will sue for peace.

We have been here before. Deterrence worked very well from the 1950’s to 1991.

And there were constant complaints about NATO, etc. in all those decades making the same points -

“These idiots have no idea what they’re blundering into. God help us all!”
Many came from communist or communist front organizations, but certainly not most.

Money from the US has been sloshing around the globe for decades. This is a world of corruption and endless wars, and the American taxpayer seems to have been unwittingly paying for it all.

If Elon stops the fraud and makes that money stop sloshing, that’s a big help. And if Trump imposes lots of tariffs that suck money out of other countries, making them just a little bit starved for money — we may see a lot less corruption and a lot less endless fighting. People won’t be able to afford it. And we will be rich.

I suspect you misunderstand their plan completely.

They arent going to spend such huge sums.

They’re going to provoke a massive escalation in the war by getting a relatively small number of their tripwire troops killed in Ukraine. Or with some other provocation or false false flag.

The idea is to forcibly drag the USA into a big fight with Russia, at very little cost to the europeans

The US has about a net 98 Billion in trade deficits (merchandise PLUS services) with the EU. That’s not a lot, in an 18-19 Trillion EU economy. The Euros can easily retaliate, like vs US LNG, but its way less trouble to net it out.

Now, lets talk about the Chinese.
