Trump admin to launch mandatory online registry of illegal immigrants with names, fingerprints and home addresses

The Trump administration reportedly plans to roll out an online registry of illegal immigrants as early as this week that would force undocumented migrants to submit personal information or face fines and arrest.

The mandatory registry would require illegal immigrants, including minors over the age of 14, to submit fingerprints and home addresses, according to US Citizens and Immigration Services.

Migrants who fail to register could be fined as much as $5,000 and be sentenced to up to six months in prison, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.

“Aliens in this country illegally face a choice,” read a memo from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem on the incoming policy. “They can return home and follow the legal process to come to the United States or they can deal with the consequences of continuing to violate our laws.”

The move is part of President Trump’s effort to bolster the nation’s immigration laws and enforcement.

Why not just deport them?

They want to know if they come back AFTER they have been deported. Illegals are criminals, they need fingerprinting, using and such. It us good to keep tabs. They should ALWAYS have been tracked.

Back in the day every January there were Public Service Announcements on broadcast radio reminding “All aliens—register now: Forms available at your nearest post office”

When I was a LEGAL immigrant in Japan, I was required to register my home address, be fingerprinted and carry an identification card to prove my legal status to open bank accounts, enroll my children in school, change jobs and more. Most countries have similar laws and for good reason.

First you need to find out where they are. This is a way to do that and it’s a step in the right direction. For far too long we’ve been doing nothing.

A far more generous choice than I would give them.
As far as I am concerned anyone detected here illegally should be banished for life, no exceptions.
Anyone found here a second time to be convicted as a Felony as provided in EXISTING law.
Allowing multiple re-entry with virtually NO punishment is insane.
And just to be sure no one gets to scream “Racist” be VERY sure the law is applied to everyone.

Read the article. They deport them after fingerprint and registration, then send them home. They can seek to enter legally without criminal record.

Not quite as strict but similar in Hong Kong. I had to get my visa renewed every year for first seven years. I always had to have my ID card if outside the home. They knew where I worked and lived. The police there will board public busses and ask for your ID. Kids under 15, can carry a photo copy because they loose things. Adults have to have the card.

After seven years I received a “Permanent” ID and could have become an actual citizen there. If I hadn’t taken the job on the island of Guam we’d still be in HK.

Didn’t Biden admin do something like this through some apps?

I remember JD explained it during the VP debate.

Logistics - not enough ICE, too many illegals. Also, and more importantly, this creates an additional crime to justify their removal upon encounter! Remember, the Dems claim that being here illegally is somehow not a crime worthy of deportation. Well, now we can make being here illegally and failing to register a separate crime worthy of deportation!

The gov’t should adopt my plan. Each time an illegal alien is caught, cut off a finger and deport them.

If they try to come back, they’ll easily be fingered and arrested. (And vice versa.)

Can you quote that part?

We live in an area that has been a true dumping ground for illegal aliens. We became vastly outnumbered by foreigners. The difference since President Trump was inaugurated has been shocking.

For years the shelves would be half empty of we got to the store later in the day. And the shoplifting became outrageous. I overheard a person giving orientation at one of our local Super-Walmarts and that person said that they had lost $5 million to theft at that store in the past year.

Washington State has the highest rate of shoplifting in the nation. Several stores nearby went out of business or left as a result. Most parts of Washington have not got a fraction of the illegal aliens that we do. Our local stores now have armed guards and off-duty police officers working for them, along with automatic gates and carts that have wheels that lock up if the electronic tags in the merchandise have not been removed or deactivated.

Since President Trump was inaugurated, the stores have been about half empty much of the time. The horrible driving we normally see daily has gotten much better. We used to expect to not get half or more of what we were looking for most of the time. I doubt that it is as noticeable even in places 20 or 30 miles from here. I believe that people started self-deporting as soon as President Trump came back into power.
