Dem Rep. Smith: ‘Absolute Lie’ Trump, Musk Making Government More Efficient
Breitbart ^ | 02/25/2025 | Pam Key

Posted on 02/25/2025 9:49:04 AM PST by ChicagoConservative27

Representative Adam Smith (D-WA) said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Ana Cabrera Reports” that President Donald Trump is telling the American people an “absolute lie” that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is about making the federal government more efficient.

Smith said, “If we identify what Trump and Musk are doing as what it is, which is basically trying to smash the federal government so that they can have greater power and control, this has nothing to do with efficiency and effectiveness. You line up 100 CEOs in the country and say, ‘Is this the way you run your business if you wanted to make it more efficient and effective?,’ absolutely zero would say yes. This is about Trump and Musk creating a situation where they have the power to do whatever they want to do, whenever they want to do it, without any checks on that power.”

And I take it Representative Adam Smith (D-WA) has run a large business himself?

Everything he says is a lie. To increase efficiency you must eliminate wasteful spending. What kind of idiot would disagree with that?

basically trying to smash the federal government

Karl Marx was the first to suggest that the workers ought to "smash the state". But today's Left is more focused on creating an enormous, all-powerful central government that can impose tyranny and control every little aspect of everyone's life.

If Elon Musk wants to smash the federal government, today's Left will do anything they can to stop him.

Yeah, this Adam Smith guy is a moron and the only reason he gets elected is because of the far left State he represents. I just saw a newsfeed that basically said Jamie Dimon doesn’t think Trump and Musk are cutting enough which indicates to me two things. DOGE is on the right track and Smith lied when he said not one business owner/leader would endorse this. BUT, because of the (D) after his name, he can lie lie lie. He figures he just needs to give his supporters some red meat while they contemplate offing themselves.

Efficiency is indistinguishable from hoarding, you know. And hoarders are to be shot on sight.

So Adam Smith (D-Washington) what is your solution?

What’s that? Government as is, is efficient. Nothing needs to happen. We just need to spend more money?

Oh, OK. Y

‘Is this the way you run your business if you wanted to make it more efficient and effective?,’ absolutely zero would say yes.

He answered his own question with his desired and preconceived conclusion. Which means that he can't be trusted to do or say the right thing. Since he didn't didn't ask any CEOs the question he posed, and put words into all the unknown CEOs mouths, it means that he can't be trusted to do or say anything valid about the issue. Liars who with preformed biased opinions and with virtually no knowledge of the facts, are the biggest liars around.

To eliminate wasteful spending, you must prosecute corruption. Anyone see that happening?

"said, without offering any evidence for her assertion."

Nor has any leftist bureaucrat or politician done so since about 2008. It's insane and dystopian. I would really enjoy reading the "Five things" essays from DOGE. Anywhere I worked, if my company management asked for that from me, I know my bosses are about to be fired. Some empty premium parking spaces are about to open up.

The federal government is lacking in basic internal controls and policies that every private sector company is required to have in place. Every private sector company that is publicly traded or carries bank debt is required by law or by the bank to be audited once a year to make sure those controls are in place and policies are being enforced. If not, the board fires the CEO.

Those internal controls and policies do not give the CEO more power - they actually make the CEO accountable to the board of directors.

DOGE audits will NOT give POTUS more power, they will make him and the rest of the federal government accountable to the board of directors (We The People).

Hey Adam, go read Article 2. The president has control over the Executive branch, period.
Did you miss school the day they covered this?

This guy’s entire background is law, which means he never worked a productive day in his life. He wouldn’t know how to run a business if he inherited one.
