Vivek Ramaswamy announces run for Ohio governor
Roll Call ^ | Feb 25 | By Daniela Altimari

Posted on 02/25/2025 12:39:12 AM PST by RandFan

Former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy announced Monday that he is running for Ohio governor, a move that comes just over month after he stepped down as co-leader of a government efficiency effort in the Trump White House.

“President Trump is reviving our conviction in America,’’ Ramaswamy told a crowd at his campaign launch rally at a Cincinnati aerospace company. “We require a leader here at home who will revive our conviction in Ohio.”

Ramaswamy, who is hoping to replicate Trump’s jump from the business world to elective office, stuck to familiar themes.

“We will lead Ohio to be the top state in the country, where we embrace capitalism and meritocracy instead of apologizing for it,’’ he said. “We will lead Ohio to be the top state in the country that takes a hatchet to red tape, over-regulation and bureaucracy.”

Later Monday, Trump wrote in all-caps on his Truth Social platform that Ramaswamy had his “complete and total endorsement.”

“I know him well, competed against him, and he is something SPECIAL,” Trump said of his onetime rival for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

Interesting he also has Trump's endorsement!

I did wish that both he and Byron Donalds were Vance’s and Rubio’s senate replacements respectively because of the ability to instantly raise their national profile and legitimacy. But if either have presidential ambitions, then governance experience at the executive level matters most!

Good god.

Not this power hungry blow-hard again.

I like him when he first came on the scene but not any more.

Strong streak of narcissism.

“The Slick” Announces His Run for Ohio Governor

February 24, 2025 | Sundance

One of the consistent reminders from CTH research files is always to ‘trust your instincts.’  If it doesn’t feel quite right, then just wait, don’t formulate an opinion, keep watching and the picture will likely fill-in.

When considering anything that encompasses Vivek ‘The Slick’ Ramaswamy, trusting your instincts is key. Everything, from the speech pattern, the cadence, the sense of self-importance; all the way to the grand prose of Indian cultural heritage that puts others down as a cultural power dynamic, socially elevating self. It is all performative. Shallow and performative.

Ohio is an odd state. They seem to always find a way to leave themselves with the worst possible options for Governor.  He’s going to be a liability in the long term. Ramaswamy is not stable; he’s erratic and focused on emotional/personality issues.

BREAKING NEWS: Vivek Ramaswamy Announces Run For Ohio Governor

I hope the people in Ohio do not agree with my assessment, because the other options are likely to be worse.

Ohio is a weird place when it comes to Governor races.

The old GOP party controls the mechanics, the MAGA party is the base – that’s the source of the contradiction.

I’m in Ohio. I like the guy except his stance on H1-b’s.

Love his speech on taxes being eliminated.

I’m not a 1 issue voter and compared to everyone else I’ve heard about so far no one even comes close and he’ll most likely get my vote.

Plus, Trump has endorsed him, and I trust that man’s discernment, though not blindly.

We’ll see if he’s the real deal or faux. Ohio will be the laboratory. Big state. Diverse.

I think people misunderstood what Vivek was saying about the caliber of our college graduates not being compatible, or even competitive, with other countries graduates in terms of employment. A significant number of our country’s students have been socially promoted to comply with woke DEI social requirements, and not to meet the rigorous STEM needs of America’s employers. For a business to be successful it needs to have the best and the smartest employees to compete against competitors.

I’ve heard that complaint before - but I’ve hired close to 20 engineers straight out of college in the past 15 years and just through proper screening I ended up with amazing talent - go getters every one of them.

The executive staff at my new job here was talking about meeting the needs of the “new generation” in regards to remote work, etc and I literally told them “bullsh*t”. Could have heard a pin drop - then I explained why I was so worked up about it and that the talent is out there.

I agree the colleges/universities/school in general aren’t doing us any favors, but the greatest innovators and hard workers of our past mostly didn’t attend or finish those anyway.

Forget this grifter. I’ll be voting for Dave Yost. He has done an outstanding job while AG. Just one example...
Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost created the Human Trafficking Initiative in 2019 to end labor and sex trafficking statewide.

Turns out the National Human Trafficking Hotline places Ohio at fifth in the nation among the states with the highest number of calls. Yet our state has done zippo in regards to mandatory e-verify for illegals.

Ohio has a long history of supporting Establishment Republicans and then whining about what they did to themselves.

My gut instinct is that the next Ohio governor will be a Romney or McCain type loser like DeWine was. I don’t think Vivek can win. He should win, but its not likely. Vivek would be the better pick than some Mitch McConnell clone.

Ramascammy is serial pharma fraudster and ex-proponent of DEI policies at taxpayer expense. Trump never should have brought this little shitbag into the MAGA movement.
