NYC brute released after slugging female NYPD cop randomly attacks woman in Times Square: police

Here we go again.

A career criminal who was charged with slugging a female NYPD cop and was cut loose after a Bronx judge lowered his bail has been charged in another assault — a random attack on a woman in Times Square.

Ernst Delma, 41, who has a string of busts on his rap sheet, was able to post bail in October after Bronx Judge Brenda Rivera clipped his $200,000 bond to just $80,000 — which meant he only needed to come up with $8,000 to end up back on the streets, records show.

On Saturday, police said, Delma was at it again, this time allegedly walking up to a woman in her 50s in Times Square and punching her in the face in what cops said was an unprovoked attack.

“This guy hit the nicest person in the city,” the victim’s sister told The Post.

“I believe the guy is a threat to women and the safety of New Yorkers,” she said. “A man who raises his hand to females isn’t a man at all and should be in jail.”

The cowardly attack also irked some of New York’s Finest.

“Nobody should be surprised that a dangerous repeat offender who attacked a police officer in full uniform would turn around and attack a defenseless New Yorker,” NYPD PBA president Patrick Hendry said.

“The only mystery here is why he was allowed back on the streets,” Hendry fumed. “This case is just more proof that those who assault police officers need to be kept behind bars.”

Delma, a repeat offender who was on parole on a New Jersey arrest, made headlines on Aug. 9 when he was charged with punching the cop in a shocking, caught-on-video attack.

Start charging Judges as accessories in the crime. This jusge 100% enabled this crime and even facilitated it.

In fairness though, the courts are kind of busy fighting federal laws.

So, there’s that . . .

Where there’s violence there is almost always ........
And if you defend yourself you’ll go to jail.

Exactly. If judges are going to participate in 'lawfare' and use their positions to influence society (outside of their official duties to provide fair and unbiased oversight of legal proceedings and legal questions), then they should not be immune to 'lawfare'.

Irresponsible judges and Prosecuting attorneys need to be held accountable. I only wish there was a way this man could be criminally charged under federal statutes so that his fate is taken out of the hands of the liberal establishment.

in a shocking, caught-on-video attack

I do not think that word means what you think it means. “Shocking” is way overused. 99.9 percent of the time the video is not “shocking” at all — it’s just another example of expected behavior.

They just need someone like Giuliani in the mayor’s office. However, with all of the crooked and ideology-driven people in the New York judicial system maybe even a Giuliani couldn’t help.

Could Gallop or RealClearPolitics poll NYC residents on whether they support letting violent offenders loose to prey on the weak? Do majorities approve of THEIR judges abetting crime? What do they feel is the purpose of having expensive police and courts?

...judges have discretion in making bail decisions in accordance with the law and based solely on an individualized assessment of a defendant’s risk of flight,” the spokesperson said.

That implies that the courts are only concerned about the risk of flight and does not take into account the past history of the accused or the potential for further misconduct by the accused during the release. Take that, New Yorkers ... your safety isn't considered at all.

“…would turn around and attack a defenseless New Yorker,”“

The law in NY makes fairly certain that all New Yorkers are defenseless.

This guy has something wrong in his head. Normal people do not just attack other randomm folks for no reason. Assaults are crimes but this behavior shows hes not right in the head. Theres an intent difference between a criminal who targets certain people for robbery and assault vs a wcked in the head person doing it. We used to be able to get psych holds on dangerous people like this.
