US to Disconnect Ukraine from Starlink if it Rejects Minerals Agreement — News Agency

According to Reuters, the US told the Ukrainian side that the country would be "immediately shut off" from Starlink if Zelensky again rejected the mineral deal

WASHINGTON, February 22. /TASS/. The United States is considering disconnecting Ukraine from the Starlink satellite communication system as one of the measures to pressure Kiev into concluding a deal on rare-earth minerals, Reuters reported, citing sources.

According to its information, the issue of granting Ukraine further access to the system in connection with the conclusion of an agreement on minerals has already been raised by Washington in negotiations with Kiev after the refusal of Vladimir Zelensky from the initial proposal of US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. The US side raised it again on Thursday at a meeting between US presidential envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg and Zelensky.

According to Reuters, the US told the Ukrainian side that the country would be "immediately shut off" from Starlink if Zelensky again rejected the mineral deal. "Ukraine runs on Starlink. Losing Starlink would be a massive blow," a source told the news agency. Reuters explained that Starlink is actively used by the Ukrainian military to maintain communication.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that Washington and Kiev were close to signing an agreement.

Zelensky, in a video message published on his Telegram channel on Friday, expressed hope for a "fair result" on the agreement with the United States on rare-earth metals in Ukraine. Work on the draft document continues, he said.

This should be taken with a grain of salt.

I hope this is not true, it does not make us look good. No matter where you stand on Ukraine, this action smacks of imperialism. Not everything in life should be a business deal.

Please, never bring what is moral into war talk. Moral would have been signing a peace agreement before the dying, the money laundering, the pilfering of US taxpayers, the sale of US arms supplied on the black markets, the human trafficking. the immoral biolabs etc.

See what I mean? They get Starlink for free.

This is typical deal making. That country isn’t fighting for it’s life. Those poor people being dragged off the streets are fighting for their own lives because their country would rather keep the grift going than to end the suffering.

It’s the only way to stop the war. How is paying them for their resources ‘looting them’? This is being perpetuated by political elites that make a lot of money to keep this going. It has nothing to do with what is best for the people of either country.

Trump said his #1 priority here is to “stop the killing”...I believe that is the highest moral responsibility, instead of those that profit from an unending war - all under the banner of ‘Putin bad’.

Do whatever it takes to end this slaughter.

Hopefully it will put an end to the Ukrainian and Rainbow flags that I see flying together at left-wing churches in select parts of the country. You know that ones that only have one religious admonition on their billboards, namely “Pray for Ukraine”.

I hear you. This war is a magnet for left-wing lunatics, especially now that Trump has blowtorched Zelensky.

Then put them in one agreement rather than having the mineral deal as a stand-alone without any compensation.

Sorry, I am an American and as such have every right to tell Trump how to do his job. Furthermore, this “deal” is nothing but blackmail.

Ukraine already received the compensation. The deal is a small repayment. Europe’s support is to be repaid. That was the deal. Only Biden was an ass.

It is a shame that you don’t know what is really going on. Or maybe you do and love ignoring the truth. The US has given Ukraine less than 200 Billion. Other countries in the world have given Ukraine all totaled more than that. Ukraine was never told: oh, and we need to be repaid someday for these funds.

Ukraine has let the world know what a criminal Putin is and that his Army is not as strong as Ukraine’s. In 2022 Ukraine kicked Russia out or the country except for the land Putin stole in 2014.

Later Ukraine kicked them out of Kerson west of the River. Ukraine has destroyed most of Putin’s navy and kicked almost all of Putin’s troops out of Crimea. Ukraine has army in Russia and Putin is not able to kick them out.

Ukraine has stopped almost 900,000 Russian military from fighting by killing or wounding them.

If Putin’s army is so great why can’t they take Ukraine in 3 years?

It’s not blackmail. It’s repayment. Why should we taxpayers just roll over and allow the theft of approximately $300B of our money?

Trump is putting America first.

If stopping the killing is number one, why hasn’t Trump put pressure on Putin to stop killing?

Trump is at war with Ukraine....that is what is happening. Putin invades and now Trump is attacking Ukraine.

Here is an easier solution:
  1. The USA provides Russia with minute by minute li'l Z-man targeting information.

  2. Russia loads this information into one of its supersonic missles.

  3. Do the happy dance.
