The NFL regrets picking Kendrick Lamar over Lil Wayne for this year's Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans, a league employee has reportedly admitted.
Kendrick's performance at Caesars Superdome sparked controversy last weekend, with some fans branding it 'the worst Super Bowl halftime show ever' during the Philadelphia Eagles' 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

AMEN.
They could have had either the Southern University or The Grambling Marching bands, they always put on a good show.
Jumbo tron. Prince. Whitney. Marching band on the field. Back to football
Should have just played ymca, the crowd would have gone CRAZY! Read the room NFL (I read a similar comment on truth social)
Awesome. So we can expect the return of high school bands next year?
Maybe they can start with some all-black high school bands just to keep the all-black tradition and theme going. Then they can slowly add a few token whites to the ensemble in the following year.
Perhaps a couple of the all-black high school bands could get into a shoot-out in the parking lot after the game just to keep the festivities jolly and light-hearted.
Who cares?
It’s over.
Yes, it was the worst halftime show I have ever seen in the Super Bowl.
Great idea. Would have been epic.
The days of marching bands at the Super Bowl are over. I don’t know why some people want marching bands.
It’s not a matter of picking one broke down coke head Rapper over another broke down coke head Rapper.
Enough ghetto/ white hating/ law hating ‘rap’ nonsense!
There are many other kinds of music, most not nearly so trashy. DEI or racial pandering should not dictate the only approved choices.
Why do they want rap “artists”?
I always thought Weird Al would be a great halftime show.
Reportedly those that watched “didn’t get it”. I didn’t cause I didn’t see it.
Some of the most memorable superbowl halftime shows involved basic rock music. They should consider bringing back music. Wow music. What a radical idea.
I will respectfully disagree.
I didn’t like music, but he had a lot of patriotic stuff, no satanism, and the women were clad.
The men too for that matter
There has been much worse. So while I didn’t like it, and he had some audio issues, it was far from the worst show.
We are calling it NEWS because of some unnamed employee and Skip Bayless?
I will tell you why The Powers That Be want you to think this was a terrible HT show. Kendrick Lamar’s performance had the following awesome qualities that people are missing for the most part:
1. Unlike the Paris Olympics opening ceremony, Lamar’s performance wasn’t a demonic bacchanalia.
2. No transvestites.
3. For people who still treasure morality, there wasn’t an armada of girls with their chests and butts spilling into your family’s living room. No Madonna, no Shakira, no JLo, no Lady Gaga, no Beyoncé, no wardrobe malfunction!
4. There was more red, white and blue than in most of the boring commercials.
5. Lamar didn’t have a tricked-out ride onstage- he had a 1987 Buick GNX. A BUICK!
6. Samuel L. Jackson was the emcee….he’s been in movies grossing about $12.5 billion. Forget TSwift - she’s a piker compared this guy.
7. Security tackled the pro-Palestine protester.
Now, we can debate rap music, though in all honesty there hasn’t been an acceptable musical group at the SB since The Who in 2010, or an entertainer since Bruno Mars in 2014 (The Weeknd was ok, and the 2022 HT show had fun props and set designs). I also suspect Lamar may not be in FR - but I doubt he’s on DU, either.
But with 2025, Kendrick Lamar signaled that the filthy, anti-American pornographers et al that had been in charge of the halftime show, blinked.
We won.
They lost.
If Lamar’s HT show is thrown under the bus, we will get more disgusting HT shows.
Or the Texas A&M band.
Either that, or stage a Gangsta Rap shootout at the 50 yard line once and for all and be done with it.
And then paint "Up With People" in the end zones for next year.

Pretty big mistake.
