Every Arizona swing voter in our latest Engagious/Sago focus groups said they approve of President Trump's actions since taking office — and most also support Elon Musk's efforts to slash government.
Why it matters: Public opinion can constrain presidents when Congress does not. But these 11 voters — all of whom backed Joe Biden in 2020 but switched to Trump last November — said they're good with Trump aggressively testing disruptive, expansionist expressions of presidential power that are piling up in court challenges.
It's needed to "get America back on track," one participant said.
What we're watching: One notable area of disagreement with Trump: The idea of the U.S. displacing Palestinians and taking over and redeveloping Gaza. These swing voters want Trump to stick with Americans' needs inside the U.S.
Some would like to see him do more, sooner, to rein in consumer costs. But several said they don't mind that Trump's early actions haven't primarily focused on inflation — even when that was their top issue in the election — and said they can be patient if prices don't come down for a while.
Several doubt the warnings that tariffs may translate to long-term price increases for American consumers. Several expressed views that "waste, fraud and abuse" are so prevalent that government agencies can be slashed or eliminated without hurting services on which they depend.

And yet, shitocrats were yelling “People didn’t vote for this!!!!!!!!!” Just last week.
So people actually LIKE not having their tax money pissed away on nonsense and wasted? This must come as a shock to the leftist who have made a career out of saying the opposite for decades. It’s about time.
Uh oh. Anybody who DEPENDS on government "services" is not to be trusted. The only government "services" upon which I depend are national defense, air traffic control, currency, patents & trademarks, and border protection. None of these are transfer payments to me or my family.
If I were made some kind of czar with authority to reshape the Constitution, one thing I’d consider is disenfranchising (taking away the right to vote) anyone who is on the government payroll or receiving payment/support from the government.

So your hope is that the vote is removed from not only federal and state employees, but from anyone receiving government payments or support? Are these people some kind of lesser citizens with fewer rights?
How about all the military people who rely on government checks for their pay and retirements? What about social security recipients? Should they also lose their right to vote?
Wonder how old these 11 voters are?
2020, 2020 plus 4
Sounds good but it looks like it was only 11 independent voters.
Amen to that! And right next to that, I’d ban all public unions. Our “public servants” use their unions to negotiate against their constituents’ interests.
Same rights, just as a 17 yo or an ex-con has the same rights as a voter. But just as a judge should recuse themselves for conflict of interest, those who are receiving funds from government should recuse themselves for the same reason.
