US President Donald Trump has been invited to Moscow by Russian leader Vladimir Putin as they discussed ending the war in Ukraine during a phone call on Wednesday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited United States President Donald Trump to Moscow in a major step forward in ending the war in Ukraine. On Wednesday, the US and Russian leaders held a phone call in which they discussed a variety of topics including the conflict, and the potential of future cooperation between the US and Russia.
During the phone call, the pair agreed to meet in the future, with Putin inviting Trump to Moscow and agreeing with the Republican on "common sense".
In a post to social media, Trump said the phone call with Putin was “lengthy and highly productive”.
“We both reflected on the Great History of our Nations, and the fact that we fought so successfully together in World War II, remembering, that Russia lost tens of millions of people, and we, likewise, lost so many!” Trump wrote.
“We each talked about the strengths of our respective Nations, and the great benefit that we will someday have in working together.
“But first, as we both agreed, we want to stop the millions of deaths taking place in the War with Russia/Ukraine.”
Trump said Putin even invoked the Republican’s campaign motto of “common sense” and expressed that they both believed “very strongly in it”.

Why not Switzerland?
Keep away from windows.
Eat the borscht, bland, President Trump!
RE: Why not Switzerland?
The country got rich helping to hide Ill gotten money.
Aren’t phone calls by President Trump considered impeachable offenses and felonies?
RE: Keep away from windows.
Invite Putin to come to Washington instead.
President Trump has too many enemies to take any chances and Russia should never be trusted.
I would recommend Reykjavík Iceland.
PLEASE-—
A NEUTRAL LOCATION
ANYWHERE IN USA-—CAMP DAVID—FOR INSTANCE
Neutral ground.
Every phone (land), hotel room, rental car, office space provided, meeting room will have a mic in it, all phones, voice and text, email, etc will be monitored.
Can’t blame them, we do the same thing.
But in negotiations this gives the home team a serious advantage.
Even if you do a “sweep” you won’t find anything against a more capable intel threat like the Russians. They turn the stuff off so there is no signal, it often collects and then sends on command using burst, some of the stuff is so fancy it’s hard to notice even if looking right at it.
The weak spot that allows some of the stuff to be detected sometimes, is that it needs a power supply.
It will be over in 30 days.
Putin is more trustworthy than Wray.
Trump can bring a cone of silence.
Reykjavik would be classic.
Nazi connections.
Agreed. I thank God that Trump is our President. Imagine the alternative we were given... Harris and her acolytes are simply not respected —at all— by any world leaders, and for good reason. They would have eaten her alive.
Bad idea.
Let him come here
Trump is no fool—he understands Russian paranoia and will use it to his advantage. Trump understand power politics as does Putin. We will see there is much more money to be made building things rather than blowing them up. A Trump Tower hotel in Moscow? Or golf Club in Crimea?
