The DuPage County Board voted 10-5 at its Tuesday meeting to remove the Republican congressman’s name from the building and related offices in Wheaton. While Democrats and Republicans voted along party lines on the issue, Democrats Lynn LaPlante and Lucy Chang Evans abstained from the vote and expressed disappointment that the matter was raised. […] “Here in DuPage County, public buildings serve all people, regardless of race, gender, faith or … economic status,” board Chair Deb Conroy, a Democrat from Elmhurst, said ahead the vote. “This resolution reinforces the notion that the buildings on this campus support the rights of all people to receive the services they need. … I believe our actions should reflect our values.”

The cancel culture is alive and well in Illinois. Hyde died in 2007 so he was an easy target for the leftists.
Democrats tried to blackmail Hyde (I think it was over his vote to impeach Clinton), but he refused to play along. He didn’t do what they wanted and so they released information about an affair he had as a much younger man. It was embarrassing for Hyde, but he refused to be bullied by them.
DuPage County was one of the most rock-solid GOP counties in the nation throughout the entire 20th century and NEVER ONCE voted for a Democrat: not LBJ in the 1964 anti-Republican landslide; not Franklin Deleanor Roosevelt any of his 4 runs; not ever.
Trump got obliterated there by 14.5%, 18.0% and 13.0%. No Republican has won the presidential vote since 2004 and now nobody wins statewide for any office nor for Congress; the most hyper-partisan gerrymander in the entire U.S. helps with that last part.
They should name it the Dan Rostenkowski Courthouse, after one of their grifter-crooks.
Surprised they didn’t name it after Alec Baldwin.
Chcago metastisized it’s noxious democrat filth..,just like other collar counties that kill Illinois.
I remember Henry Hyde called Bill Clinton a “scumbag”, just before this affair he had in 1966 was made public.
I left there in 2010.
Encroaching leftist corruption.
Hyde was correct in his assessment of Bill Clinton.
Politically, Chicago is a cancer that’s killing Illinois. It has spread to Springfield and threatens to choke off anything good and decent.

Good enough for democrat fanatics.
Meanwhile, during the Invasion, vacuous and vapid “Republicans” were extolling the virtues of the Replacements and how soon they would be voting for small government, strong defense, tight borders and of course, an end to Roe v Wade.
Uh...how’d that work out?! In say, DuPage County? In the “Land of Lincoln”?
I was in Hyde’s congressional district for years. He was always a great, sane, conservative voice in congress...until the SON OF A BITCH wasn’t! His cave-in support and vote (a huge double cross) for the Clinton “Assault Weapon” ban is what singularly gave us that turd.
I think you mean 1996. In 1966 he hadn’t even reached puberty! ;-)
It’s Illinois, I doubt that it will be noticed as it is not a real tourist spot except for illegals on their way to Chicago and Pritzkers’ hotels.
Hyde was my congressman and was great, and this move is petty and shameful, which is to be expected from the Left.
Originally, Henry J. Hyde was from Chicago. His political career began in the 41st Ward, which is close to O’Hare Airport and the city limits. It is an anomaly as the voters there frequently vote Republican. After serving as a legislator in the General Assembly, he was elected to Congress and redistricting moved his seat further and further into suburbia. Eventually, a majority of the district was in Du Page County.
Allegedly, Rahm Emanuel was suspected of smearing Hyde by pointing out his extramarital affair when President Clinton wasimpeached.
The way the rodents are acting it won’t take long to get their approval rating from an awful 31% down to the mid Twenties.
Under this stress they are showing who they really are.
Which is why I cannot understand why anyone supports Ikki Haley - she was part of all of that
They didn’t have to remove his name, they chose to in order to please their master Satan.
