'Scientific Socialism' Has Come to Pacific Palisades
PJ Media ^ | February 10, 2025 | Stephen Green

You can’t rebuild the same. We have to rebuild with science. We have to build with climate reality in mind," California Gov. Gavin Newsom told CNN last week in an interview about rebuilding the burned-out Pacific Palisades.

...

Whatever happened to Newsom's promise that he'd eliminate red tape and accelerate the rebuilding of one of L.A.'s nicest and most historic neighborhoods? The former homeowners of Pacific Palisades who were hoping to quickly rebuild from the ashes now understand to their very cores what Otter told Flounder in "Animal House": "You f***ed up, you trusted us."

Anyone dumb enough to believe Newsom's promise to get people rebuilding within six or nine months... well, they probably voted for him. Gooder and harder, California.

What Newsom says needs to be done before lots can be cleared and construction begins looks to me like a huge, centralized process involving an awful lot of well-connected and high-priced "experts" empaneled to redesign Pacific Palisades according to "scientific" principles involving all the techno-babble Newsom went on about in that CNN sit-down. Instead of, you know, letting people build the homes they want in the kind of city they like.

...

If you think it's expensive and time-consuming just to get permission to add a small deck on the back of a Pacific Palisades home (which it is), just wait until a panel of experts gets together to redesign the entire neighborhood from the ashes up.

...

It was revealed last week that the "philanthropist" would be paid $500,000 for overseeing all that official graft and corruption, but Soboroff quickly backed down and said he'd do it for free. Don't worry, everybody — Soboroff included — will get their beaks plenty wet.

Fill the reservoir. Install swimming pools in the back yards and let the owners decide if they want to install fire pumps and sensors. With 100mph winds it may not work.

Case in point from LA’s last mayoral...

https://laist.com/news/politics/2022-election-california-general-live-results-los-angeles-city-mayor-bass-caruso

“...The contest was a virtual dead heat on Election Night. Caruso pulled slightly ahead last Thursday, but since then Bass gained a steady lead...”

Sound familiar, CA?

It should.

Secure your elections.

If enough Dems still voted Deep State, then Deep State wouldn’t have to steal elections, would it?

This will be an ongoing story od corruption and incompetence for many many years, minimum 10 years.

I went thru the entire building process recently when I put a New House on my 10 Acres of land. 1 1/2 years to get a Grading Permit, $125K minimum. Finished it in 3 months and it took almost 3 years after that to get my building permit, total cost over $300K to get thru the building department. All these folks hacve to deal with the California Communist Coastal Commission too, add a few years and a few hundred thousand dollars.

I am willing to bet ANYONE $1000 that not a single house will have started the actual buil;ding process for at least 5 years. ANy Takers???

1. “Climate reality” is just horse puckey.

2. Newsom is correct though that his government is incapable of clearing brush sufficiently to prevent fires, and incompetent at fighting them after they start.

3. It’s a fire zone, and anyone who builds there should be forced to build fireproof exteriors with 10 ft. cleared buffer zones around all structures.

This is typical leftist thinking. First, they ignore what is the root cause creating the problem.

In the case of Los Angeles the root causes are:
1. Annual Santa Ana winds blowing from the desert westward.
2. Brush covered hills/mountains surrounding the houses.
3. Too many would be arsonists among the homeless and other mentally ill people.

Los Angeles cannot stop the Santa Ana winds, but they can mitigate the other two causes of bad fires.

Instead it appears Los Angeles’ solution is to develop fire proof homes so people can continue to live in brush covered hills and let would be arsonists freely roam.

Remember what Trump said before flying to Los Angeles: “No Voter ID = No Federal Funds”

It was revealed last week by Mayor Bass that a “philanthropist” would be paid $500,000 to oversee official graft and corruption. So don’t you worry, Dems will makeout like bandits from taxpayers who lost everything.

After the uproar over his “humanitarianism” by burned
out taxpayers, Mayor Bass called Soboroff and said:

“Look, you frickin’ SoB, the public is onto us.
I’ll just say you’ll work for free to dupe the suckers.”

“You’ll get paid, buddy boy. I’ll get the money from a
secret slush fund I keep when I need to bribe someone.”

“I’m polling at 3%. I don’t need anymore
reelection distractions after I burned down LA.”
