KYIV, Feb 11 — US President Donald Trump floated the idea that Ukraine "may be Russian someday”, as his Vice President JD Vance gears up to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky later this week.

Pushing for an end to the nearly three-year war with Russia, Trump discussed the conflict in an interview with broadcaster Fox News that aired yesterday.

"They may make a deal, they may not make a deal. They may be Russian someday, or they may not be Russian someday,” he said.

Trump also emphasised reaping a return on investment with US aid to Ukraine, suggesting a trade for Kyiv’s natural resources, such as rare minerals.

You need a xanax, Marcus? :)

Nah, you know that it is a negotiating tool used by Trump.

He won’t let your little boy z and his country sink into oblivion.

Plus how could he? Every day, you and 50 other zeepers tell us how Ukraine has practically taken over Russia.

So no worries :)

Their hatred for Ruzzia blinded them from reality.
Reality is about to slap them in the face.
And it’s going to leave a mark.

Study history. There have been many a great power that were forced to leave a territory, not because they were driven out, but because it became too costly to stay. E.g.: the British in North America, the British in Ireland, the French in Algeria, the Americans in Vietnam, both the Soviets and the Americans in Afghanistan. And the list goes on.

Maybe Putin can be induced to take coup-plotter Victoria Nuland off our hands.

The ever changing world of big power spheres of influence. It’s common sense and the way of the world. The Donbass has changed hands at least 20 times since 1914. To try to freeze that ever, for the last millennia, evolving area in a warped Soviet engineered ethnic caldera is madness. To nearly blunder into WWIII over it is the most insane thing I’ve ever witnessed in my lifetime.

So trying to stop/punish those who invade neighboring countries in Europe for territorial annexation is "madness"? Okay

Most European borders were constantly changing due to wars, its what eventually led to the worldwide conflicts of WW1 and WW2.

It's life -- not madness.

The USA has....

-invaded, blockaded, and sanctioned Cuba
-invaded and taken over Hawaii
-invaded Mexico and took what is now a large part of the southwest US
-attempted but lost same in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afganastain
-took/stole native Indians' territory and hereded them into reservations.

And on and on and on....

Get real!

The iron law of history!
If you aren’t strong enough to keep it, you don’!

Without looking up on the Internet, name one Britannic tribe?

You don’t like our history or apparently any history so please leave!

That’s a long term possible solution.
Who is Zelensky going to Con to push Ruzzia out now?
There was never a Peace deal in the Countries you mentioned.
Big Difference.

US attempted to annex Vietnam, Iraq or Afghanistan?

Since WW2, all countries have signed the UN Charter promising to settle border disputes peacefully, in the UN.

Or do you believe we should "Get real" and have all world border disputes settled by invasions? Which is madness.

The iron law of history!
If you aren’t strong enough to keep it, you don’!

Yep, you're pretty much right.

How about being strong and not bullying and trying to change the rest of the world to our liking? Why is that our job?

Why can't we be strong and take care of our own instead of dictating to and invading countries all over the planet? Is that such a strange notion to you?

We spend our precious resources taking on the rest of the planet while countries like China and others focus on their own and not take on the rest of the world. Why do they have better math and science education systems and challenge the world with better products and production capabilities -- while we spend massive sums on worldwide military bases and invasions around the world they're not burdened with?

Hell, we're $35 trillion in debt and growing, which can lead to all kinds of very unpleasant and dangerous outcomes -- including collapse. We attempt to save the world at the cost of our own country. Yep. That makes lots of sense, doesn't it?

You don’t like our history or apparently any history so please leave!

It's not about not liking our history and ALL ABOUT "the pot calling the kettle black." We've done all the things and more that we now preach to the world that THEY should NOT do!

In other words, "do as I say, not do as I do."

History is strewn with perfect examples of civilizations that outran their headlights, like the Great British Empire (GONE), The Roman Empire (GONE), and many others. Is that where you want us to be?
