KYIV, Ukraine (AP) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed a new Ukrainian offensive in Russia’s Kursk region and said that North Korean troops were fighting alongside Russian forces there.

“In the areas of the Kursk operation, new assaults have taken place,” Zelenskyy said during his Friday address, adding, “Russia has once again deployed North Korean soldiers alongside its troops.”

According to Zelenskyy, a “significant number” of enemy troops were destroyed. He gave no details but said the losses were in the hundreds.

Russia’s Ministry of Defense said Saturday that it had repelled a Ukrainian counterattack in the Kursk region.

Russia said Friday its forces had captured the mining town of Toretsk in their latest breakthrough in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk region, where Ukrainian defenses are creaking. Ukrainian officials did not confirm the report.

Military Summary Channel has been covering this the last couple days. They captured a village. And then a line of Ukrainian armor got blown up approaching a roadway they had to cross. And that’s about it.

So Ukraine still holds Kursk, after 8 months.

Greatest loss of Russian territory since WWII.

Personally, I find both Putin and especially Zelenskyyyyy, VERY offensive!

Yes, a play on words, but still VERY valid.

The entire Russian strategy has been one of attrition.

The Ukrainian forces in Kursk are sacrificial.

Zelensky will do anything to keep the war going to sustain his money laundering operation.

They don't hold "Kursk." They hold a strategically meaningless couple of plots of farmland and villages. And if I was the Russians I would continue to let them hold it for as long as they are stupid enough to defend it just so people like you have your talking points on TV and social media.

The Kursk position for the Russians is like a grade school kid sitting astride another kid with his arms pinned while he pummels the prone kids' face. Why would the Russians ever want to give that up so long as the Ukrainians keep sending troops in to die?

It must matter to Russia, or they wouldn’t have diverted 60,000 troops there, PLUS called out for North Korea to help with 12,000 of its troops (who are getting slaughtered, btw).

Ukraine launched the Kursk invasion to draw off Russian troops from Donetsk, and it seems to have worked.

ROFL. I can't believe you believe yourself, much less believe anyone else believes you.

You can cut through the fog of war to some degree by observing who is plodding along with the same stolid strategy because it works, and who is flailing and keeps changing their tune and making stuff up. The Russians are obviously very happy with the progress and course of the war, and show no signs of stress or hurry in how they are prosecuting it. You continue to flail.

As president of Ukraine, Zelensky has a duty, according to Ukraine’s constitution, to defend his country and borders against any foreign invasions. It’s exactly what Trump is pushing for concerning America : protect the borders, stop the invasion!
Why should Zelensky be criticized for applying Trump policies for Ukraine?

The Wagner coupists did get closer to Moscow, though, and Putin was forced to fortify Russia’s capital from ground attack for the first time since 1941. They are or were in the case of Prigozhin and Utkin Russian nationals. Here we have battles between Ukrainians and North Korean slaves on Russia’s soil. It’s hard to decide what is the bigger humiliation for Putin’s Potekmin regime and its useful fool supporters.

President Trump’s policies are funded by US tax dollars.

Dictator Zelensky’s policies are funded by US tax dollars which is what MAGA Americans are criticizing.

So if I follow your logic all the way... Winston Churchill was a “dictator” as well because of his defensive war (funded by US taxpayers) against the German invaders?
