A federal judge blocked the Trump administration from placing thousands of employees at the US Agency for International Development (USAID) on paid leave Friday, halting plans to cut its workforce down to just a few hundred.

Washington, DC, US District Judge Carl Nichols imposed a “very limited” restraining order on the administration, Politico reported, sparing at least 2,200 USAID employees from being put on paid leave at midnight.

Administration officials had reportedly moved to gut the agency’s more than 10,000-person workforce by the end of the week down to just 290 or so staff members.

Just 500 employees at USAID had already been placed on leave and are likely to be recalled, Nichols also noted in the hearing.

Recalled? To do what? There's nothing left. Sweep up the cinders.

Trump planned for this. We await the next move. Does the judge even have the power to stop this?

Well, if I can’t put them on paid leave, I’ll put them on unpaid leave!

Recall them but keep them locked out of their computers. Essentially they will have to watch porn on their phones after they drive to work.

If the boss can’t fire you, then he’s really not your boss.

It’s plain to see, US District Judge Carl Nichols appears to favor corruption.

Somewhat obviously, the DC courts are the problem.

Time to end the charade that DC is a State.

the “judge” ought happily be personally jailed
for every killing and rape and theft
that occurs because of his/her/them treasonous decree.

The Judge has apparently not read this short sentence in the Constitution—-—

Article 2 Section 3 -— “he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed”

“Take care” are two very powerful words.

I don’t think folks here are aware of just how much civil service protection is built into the system.

I think that is the way to go. Then, going forward, when Trump tells a category of federal workers that they are being put on leave, they will think: “Darn. That’s bad news. But I really hope that no “do-gooder” tries to find a judge who will oppose this. Because then I’ll just get fired, and that’s much worse.” Make the Democrat “do-gooders” the enemy.
