The Senate voted late Tuesday to confirm Pam Bondi, President Donald Trump's nominee for attorney general, voting 54-46 to install the longtime prosecutor and former Florida attorney general to head the U.S. Department of Justice.
Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., bucked his party to make the vote bipartisan. He was the only Democrat to join Republicans in support of the nominee.
Bondi's confirmation comes as both the Justice Department and FBI have been under scrutiny by Democrats in Congress who have raised concerns over Trump's recent decision to pardon or commute the sentences of 1,600 defendants in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riots and to oust more than 15 inspectors general and special counsel investigators.
To date, there are no known plans to conduct sweeping removals or take punitive action against the agents involved in the Jan. 6 investigations.
But U.S. Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove sparked fresh concerns last week after he directed the acting FBI director to identify all current and former bureau employees assigned to the Jan. 6 cases for internal review.

This seems to me to be THE most important confirmation for Trump’s ability to steamroll through the deep state. If she truly has his back and acts as Trump’s sledgehammer, like Eric Holder did for Obama, then great.

Ms. Shanahan(RFK VP) might scare a few when Jr. is up for a vote.
Fetterman got so much stronger and smarter after he had his stroke. Maybe more Dems need strokes.

You have to wonder what those FBI and DOJ officials who interfered with Pam’s investigation into the second Trump assassination attempt are now thinking? I wonder if they are hiring attorney’s or looking at flying to a country without extradition to the USA?
Who knows, maybe if they are lucky they have some dirt on who gave them their orders and why that they can exchange for a plea deal.
Jeb Bush likes her. I hope she’s not Bushy.
Fetterman is a guy the Dems have to keep their eyes on.
He’d better watch his six on the way around DC and back home, too. Are the two guys in the dark following him or just happening to be going the same way? Breaking with unanimity is not an endearing quality to a Dem.
